My friend just purchased a 2010 S4 and it's already in the shop after 3,000 miles. He needs his engine replaced. I would say I rather take BMW's faulty fuel pumps any day over having the engine replaced on a brand new car.
BTW, the interior on the S4 is very nice!

I spend a lot of time over many years on many different car forums and yet still I am surprised at how defensive most forum members feel they need to be as it relates to their own choice (car forums in general, not a unique trait of MBWorld.org).
I truly appreciate the posts (and there are some in this thread) from other enthusiasts who have the capability to appreciate a great car no matter the badge.

Sup bro?? My friend with the 2010 also had his in the shop for a week after the car was stuttering. They had to order a part from Germany and his car had only 1500 miles on it!!

you know what, alot these arguments could be replaced with
"i drove _________ and wanna get one". the arguments would be the same wouldnt they be?
the reliability argument? really? theres no "know for" garbage.
i think people need to grow up, theres areas where there c63 isnt king. i know shocking right?

you should re-read some of the **** thats been typed in here. remove audi, and replace it with any car maker you care to. it will be completely applicable in another forum or when comparing another car
for example, if i said i just drove a cts-v, same **** would be spewed

i think the main point is something that's a little more comparable. IMO the cts-v would be more comparable with the c63 than an s4. and like others have said, the rs4 or rs6 whatever. but i doubt any car maker can fit in there like you said.
it wouldn't make sense to stick in Kia for the car maker... and then the kia bashing will begin... mostly because it just doesn't make sense.
and it probably wouldn't make sense to stick in Bentley for the comparison either...
