battle of supercars show on Speed - Our C63 rocks
There is a new show on Speed channel called "Battle of the supercars"
http://www.speedtv.com/programs/batt...cars/matchups/
I watched it yesterday and after looking at the results for the GTR, 997TT, tuned 997GT3RS and tuned F430, I felt invigorated and proud that a tuned C63 is as good or better than those bad boys.
All cars have a better 0-60 times but at the mile run they did, it showed a different story. The stock GTR did 169 and the 997TT did 168. The tuned GT3RS and 430 did low 170s (can't recall exact numbers).
The results mirror the Miami mile run this year I went to where there were GTR and 997TT which ran high 160s or low 170s.
For people who do not recall the results, there were 3 C63s and our best runs were 168, 172 and 181.
The 181 is Dadc63 monster which is obviously more than tuned but mine and RaleighC63 were just tuned.

That show is awesome but some of these cars are not actually SUPER cars!!!!
The GT500 and a Camaro SS both had about 1000 hp.
Here is the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU_NN5-3Vt0
The 60-130 mhp are listed below:
GT500 = 10 sec
Camaro SS = 11.1 sec
These times are actually not much faster than a stock C63 which is about 11.9 sec.
Keith’s car can do a 60-130mph = 8.46 sec
The standing mile for the GT 500 = 190.2 mph I think
The standing mile for the Camaro = 189.4mph
Yes they both did better than our tuned C's but they also have about 450 more hp.
Keith’s car did 180.73mph in the Mile..
Emericr did 168 mph and my car did 172.4mph....

Most people will start at 20mph-40mph in a 60-130 run, thus hitting 60 mph with a full head of steam, not stomp on it at 60mph like they did on that show. I am sure that made a pretty big difference, although I agree that those cars didn't seem to be accurate representations of 1000hp.

No problem. It's good to hear from you..
Did you watch the one with the Porsche 997TT it did 169 in stand mile. The Porsche gt3 did 172 in standing mile. The Ferrari F430 did 169 in standing mile and GTR did 168 also in standing mile...
Our cars are just as fast or fastr then these guys...... Amazing!!!!

Go to Andy's site, there's a whole write-up about this run!! The C63 acquitted itself quite well against some purported "supercars." Does this then make the C63 a Supercar??

I have seen two episodes featuring an Aston Martin DBS, Bentley Supersport, CTSV and an E63. The 60-130 times were in the 13 to 14 second range which really makes Dad's sub 9 second run outclass the field. The Bentley and the DBS only managed 165 and 156 in a rolling mile, compare that to the standing mile numbers that the 3 tuned C63's clocked.

Also, you really can't compare stock cars to modified ones. I mean you could...but it is not a fair comparison. My CTS-V would probably give my old tuned CL65 a run for its money 60-130mph. The other day I ran an 8.75s 60-130mph in 90% humidity starting from a standing start. The auto shifts from 2-3rd gear at 63mph. If I start from a roll and shift into 3rd gear before 60mph, I should cut at least a 1/10 off the time. In some nice cool and crisp fall air, I should see something near my CL65's 8.45s 60-130mph time.
