Call me crazy, but unless the car is being raced and you need/desire the reduction in weight, I just don't see the attraction to the CF hood or deck lid. From every angle and distance except up close it looks like a car that got in an accident and is awaiting a panel repaint. JMHO. I could be wrong.

 

Two questions: What is the exact weight of the hood and will softer struts be provided?

 

I ordered a hood from Carl and he is fantastic to deal with. Extremely responsive to all emails etc. My hood should arrive by early next week. He also does front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts (pics attached) If you are looking to do this mod, I would highly recommend you talk to him.

 

Unless your car is black...then a different look all together. I will be keeping my OEM hood for winter just in case.

 

Don't have weight reduction #s, but can get them. Softer struts are not provided, but I have ordered some in advance of the hood arriving.

 

I would like a fiberglass hood (so I can paint it) with vent slits.

 

How much is shipping? that could be another 400+?

i think they only able to do CF, anyway, mine Vented hood is on the way as well. matt black....Harrower, let me know when yours arrives.

i might put white carbon fiber vinyl for my car...still hasnt decieded yet.

 

Will do. He actually does make FG parts (bumpers/side skirts)so he should be able to do the hood in that as well.

 

he said shipping is $300 . that's still less than the other companies that sell the oem hood . i think ebay has the cheapest price at $1400 without shipping . Carl's hood would be roughly $1200 shipped to your door .

Thanks, harrower. Not bad. Revozport claims their hood is 6 kgs. I've seen others listed @ 7.2 kgs.

I figure if I'm going to do it, I want to do it once and I want the lightest possible without sacrificing quality.

 

When my arrives, I will weigh and do post just to be 100% sure of actual weight.
