New tires: Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
After 100 km so far so good. A full day at the track is coming up in 3 days, I will let you guys know if these are a well performing cheaper alternative to OEM tires.

New tires are a no no for track use, because they can chunk while driving in the corners, aka blocks can actually rip off the carcase.
Of course this only happens when driven hard

Also keep in mind that new tires take a few hundred miles to remove the releasing agent from the mold, aka they get grippier

Keep an eye on them for your own safety

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Good:
Inexpensive
Smooth
Quiet
Decent grip for everyday needs dry and wet
Same treadlife as other tires (I get about 7000km out of rears)
Poor:
Not ideal for tracking the car. A little skidish.
Grip over 5000km worse than a 5000km OEM
Now I have Michelin PS2 and find the performance of these better than the vreds and contis.
