Anyone have marks in the buttons surrounding the iDrive wheel from pushing it forward? I created two 'nicks' in the buttons, I wonder if I can get them replaced.

Hmm, I disagree. It's paper thin and adds almost nothing to the dimensions.

Not sure how the hell I'll ever remove the thing if it ever becomes necessary, though. It snaps on pretty tight. Don't even need the 3M sticker.

Hi B...you know I thought the same thing when I first installed it, but then after some time it looked ok. Now that I look at it again, it doesn't seem any bigger than what is S-class proportion wise and even sort of looks like the M-Drive...oh sh-t, did I just say that

I got the controller today and it looks perfect. The quality is amazing (Comparable even to hand-made!). No flaws at all. Not one plastic piece. And it matches my Sahara Beige seats

FYI These are Blackberry photos and apart from the first one, the controller looks like it's shiny. That's just light refelction. The first pic shows the quality best.

Mine depressed the "Back" button a few times (and presumably would cause marks if repeated many times) when I pushed the knob downward because it was down a smidge too far. I just popped the knob up a little and it clears nicely.

Did any of you folks use the 3M pad to adhere the knob cover to the knob? I didn't, and still found it almost impossible to pry up. These things are a super tight fit.

And I really like the look.

Mine came with two round (perfectly sized) 3M slices. One to attach the AMG logo to the new knob, and the second one to attach the new know to the controller.
Without the 3M, the controller did not react well and was too low.

Can anyone post a pic of the control knob on pre-2012 facelift? I have a 2012 but the knob is grooved and not sure if these would work over that.

I originally got mine from ebay from this seller - http://stores.ebay.com/carlabshop/, but it does not look like they have anymore. It was black and amazing.

Their other website is here but it seems like they only have the aluminum cover. Maybe they can make a black one for you if you ask.

I have one of these. Had it for ages. It just slips on over the I drive knob and it made me nuts cos it was always out of kilter. I lasted a weekend with it.
