For those into Interior mods - AMG I-Drive Controller Cover Emblem
FYI - just bought this AMG iDrive cover to complete the look of interior of the car. Not cheap for small part, but it seems nothing is with our cars. See here

It's touches like this, that make all the difference. Why didn't mercedes or AMG think of this. And why didn't our cars come like this from the factory! I'm thinking of buying one. Please post pics and install instruction. It looks to me, as if it just replaces the orginal knob, and not a stick on cap?

It looks cool, but it would annoy me to have the badge pointing in various directions after adjusting the radio station, etc.

Guys, I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here. By the description on eBay as Mercedes Benz AMG I-Drive Controller Cover Emblem this sounds like a badge that sit on top or may replace the center of the I-Drive knob. The only part of the I-Drive that rotates is the ring around the top, not the core part. The core is spring loaded which you use to select to enter with. The knob ring is the part that you move to scrole amongst the menus etc. So my guess is that once you fit this on center of knob, that it will remain stationary. Let me be the guinea pig on this one and will post install pics as usual.

Does this replace the volume knob in the dash?

Okay...seems like nobody did the obvious thing and emailed this dealer, so I sent them a message...will let you guys know what they say. I'm hoping it is an actual cover that slips onto the knob.

Looks like a cover that goes on top of the existing knob.. I'm not sure if it'd flow nicely with the entire cabin though. Look a bit busy to me..
