I really dont see what people see in that RS5, it looks exactly the same as the current S5 in the states IMHO, what's so different apart from the engine?

Also every review they do with the C63 is perfect most of the time it comes out on top. Now you have ONE review where it comes out last and everybody is tense lol... Our car is just awesome and both AUDI and BMW owners can't touch it

I wonder what difference having ESP "on" has. I haven't driven the other cars, but the C63's ESP is very intrusive at the limit, and would significantly slow the car in the slalom and track events.

Not sure if the other cars' ESP would have as much of an impact.

While I appreciate your passion for Mercedes you need to stop drinking their Kool-Aid. It's okay to admire other cars besides the one you own.

The differences between the RS5 and S5 are just as pronounced as the differences between a C63 and a base C-class.

M3 chassis, suspension and weight
RS5 drivetrain and stunning good looks
C63 motor tuned with long tube headers from the factory

I'm not so sure that means they are going to be the only C63 OEM tires and in all markets. That Yoko website also says they also come on the 997 C4, but I haven't seen a new 997 C4 with them here in the US. They usually come in the US with Potenzas or PS2s. Maybe Yokos are available in other markets.

Probably true. But this was German mag and you would think MBZ would stick with Conti or P-zero since are both European and familiar to most customers here.

WTF? Why do they keep comparing a 4-door performance car like the C63 to coupes? They should take an M3 limo.

I know the C63 was my first choice, it still is, and would be my first choice in a year's time. The RS5 is 2secs slower to 200km/h although it's a quattro.

I would rank it this way:
1) C63
2) M3
3) Rs5
4) Alpina

BMW still cam ahead on overall rating but the speed tests seem more accurate for non-PP related cars. I also noticed that M3s come stock with 265 in rear whereas C63 come with 255s as we know.

In any event, it looks killer and I have always wanted one since I saw the first pictures and with the release of the S5 itself, I knew it was going to look menacing. Somehow it doesn't even have that much fender flare but the body and contours make it look thick and beefy. I really like the concave wheels and huge front vent.

OK Rock I really appreciate the RS5 inside scoop, you can now make a commercial for Audi... About the Mercedes Kool-Aid the other day i almost bought an A4? It's actually the only Audi that is not overpriced like the rest and it looks and feels much better than the 3 series. This Audi RS5 is going to be close to $100k and still going to be much behind the competition (same with the RS4) including the new AMG lineup and the new M engines coming out. Now a car I'm really looking forward to is the new M5... That's gonna be insane

Maybe the one foglight is a night vision light, or a radar cruise emitter? If its close to $100K, they aren't going to sell a lot of them.

Why does everyone get so offended when a magazine doesnt rate their car #1?
All of these cars are great car, IMO everyone of them could be on top depending on who drives it because all of them are closely match and each of them have their speciality, ie C63 superb engine, M3's nice handling/comfortable, Audi's interior and AWD.

Seems like comparing apples to oranges to me. Yes the cars are similar, but the fact that one has 4 doors and all the others don't seems a little off to me. I'm no structural engineer, but this would have to affect structural rigidity......and ultimately performance.

If this artical was from Auto Motor und Sport then MB always loses. Besides Hockenheim ring was a great high speed track until they changed it into a Mickey Mouse course. The Hockenheim ring is not a optimal track for the C63.

I like Audis and I'm seriously thinking of getting a 2011 S4 to replace my Bimmer. But that front grill....... I don't know if I can get passed it. It does look a little less huge with a Euro plate, but with no plate or a US plate, it looks like a big giant clown mouth. Some car magazines used to call it a "Billy the Big Bass Mouth Grill." It looks even more ridiculous on the A6.

I think we're stuck with it, it's kinda now become their trademark of sorts like the kidneys on the Bimmers.

I could not tell from the begining. After you said it, I checked RS5 and S5. Wow only the grill makes a lot different. RS5 looks awesome.
It would be lots of fun with the dual clutch and high rev engine.
