It doesn't have the piece for around the seat module in the door panel.

True, but this to be expected. When I ordered my CF trim I had to specify whether I had the controls for the seat on the door or not. This is because of the options in different markets etc. Most of these vendors buy OEM trim and wrap it in CF so they would need to know which type of trim to order based on your seat control option. I bet they would make this piece with the seat control as part of the set for the same price as one shown.

Looks too good to be true I will admit as well. I had the 3M stuff done on my car and it doesn't look half as good as this..

Guys, sorry for lack of update on this mod. The trim package has been shipped by the vendor to my office in the US where I was going to a consolidated shipment with headers, CF engine cover, power pulley, blacked out grill, CF mirror covers and a few other mods since shipping is such a pain. Some of these have not arrived yet so I don't have the trim yet. Since there is such interest in this, I will look into getting the trim package advanced ahead of the others so that I can update this mod and see what the real results are of this product

I can't imagine "overlays" being that great of a fit or look no matter what the price. If your half **** about your car it's going to look imperfect unless this is a really special product. I guess we will see, but I rather buy the package from one of the sponsors for replacement pieces..

I would agree with you 100% on your statements BUT there are several things why I thought I would give this a try and order set:

1. Price of replacement (usually OEM CF wrapped) is very expensive. I have already done the traditional 9 piece replacement from DCT (sponsor) and the product was excellent and OEM fit. A bit expensive but less than MACarbon

2. There are few companies that make CF trim pieces outside the traditional 9 piece set. MACarbon makes vents, instrument cluster, center console, seats backs, rear vents BUT these range from $500 for single piece to over $1K for the three front vent package. That is simply not worth it. It is a great product for sure, but $1K for three OEM vents wrapped in CF is simply

3. I am buying CF seat backs, instrustment cluster, and Euro console top from another vendor (OEM wrapped) but wanted to get some of the parts such as Command console etc. No one will make these pieces from what I have seen as they are expensive and would be near impossible to wrap. So only option is overlays at this time.

I will see if the pattern/quality matches what i have now. If not no big deal - the just another item to add to the inventory of parts in the garage. If it does however, then I will use certain overlays to complete the look of the interior. Calculated gamble...hope it will pay off.

Hey all, I purchased a roll of 3M matte carbon for about $300. My brother and I wrapped my wood pieces ourselves, no 3m adhesive spray required, just stick it on and use a heatgun on the corners and edges so smooth it out. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of it at the moment, but you can still get a feel for it. Oh and the amount I received for the cash was enough to wrap all my wood interior, my brothers interior on his 335is, my spoiler, and his mirrors (twice). As for peeling/fading....... absolutely none, the material is incredibly durable and almost impossible to destroy. I feel this is the best solution to getting all the look of carbon, without destroying your wallet. I'll try and find the website i bought it off and post it up for you guys if your interested. Hope this helps! If you have any questions let me know

Can you provide us the link as to where you get the 3M matte Carbon? Any more pics you can show us? Do you know if the glue will damage the surface if you ever need to remove it?

HIRO63, please let us know how it turns out (with pictures). Check and see if the glue from the carbon fiber sheet will or will not damage the surface if we ever need to remove it. I am thinking to go with your route after seeing how difficult it is to remove the wood panel from the door.

Thanks.

The website for the wrap is http://www.carbonfiberfilm.com/
And if anyone is interested in any carbon fiber crafted items, i suggest you check out their main site: http://www.carbonfibergear.com/direct/

As of right now i don't have any other pics, I'll be happy to take some tomorrow and I'll post them up as soon as I can. As for the glue, I wrapped my trunk spoiler as well but cut corners and it ended up having a lot of imperfections. After about 4 months i decided to take it off and go back to having my spoiler white. There was a little bit of glue left on it after removing the wrap, but nothing soap and water couldn't handle. As for the spoiler, it was still in perfect condition. This wrap is by far the best alternative to real carbon fiber. It's worth every penny imo

Well, I did not get the material myself... I had some kid here in NJ to do the wrapping for me. It is a type of 3M CF Fabric, made in Japan, very durable. It comes in White, Grey & Silver as well. Here's the email for the kid, I think he also sells them by sheet: sales@drycarbonwrap.com

I've seen Mperor's car at the Eurocharged tune day in January.

The trim looks even better in person.

^^Wow, it looks good! Does it goes on the existing pieces or u have to remove the oem? The CF vinyl is a good alternative.
