CF Interior - overlay
Here is an alternative to replacing OEM trim with CF pieces for those who want the look but don't want to drop the coin which has been required by going OEM CF, or from other after-market suppliers. Made of carbon sheet and 0.080 with 3M backing. 16 pieces as attached pic. Cost is $275.00 for all 16. I wish some of these pieces existed in CF from the market for OEM replacement parts. I know MACarbon does the 3 air vent but at $1050 too expensive for me.

Guys, here the link to the product here on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2008-...ts_Accessories
I talked to them before ordering the set (yes I am tinkering here with all kinds of products/options - going to take my car the complete carbon route) and talked to their product guy. He spent some time on the phone with me and went over some questions I had
First - this is NOT a product like MACarbon/DCT and others who make OEM trim replacement parts out of CF. This product from my discussion with him is a real carbon sheet that has 3M backing and is stuck over the OEM trim. The 16 pieces are out of the CF sheet by laser press for accuracy of the fitmenty over the trim. They don't use glue or resin just 3M so there is no mess if you decide to pull this off at later date. They said they see alot of sales for cars that are leased where people simply pull this off at end of lease for return of the car in original shape.
I have ordered a set just to see the quality and if it matches up my other CF interior parts. As I said there are some of the overlay-pieces that really interest me as I they (if the product is good) will complete my interior. Although not a true OEM trim replacement CF part I don't foresee anyone tooling up to make some of the more detailed parts of the interior.
I will always post pics post install. It might turn-out that this is simply junk and I give it to my son to put on his tri-cycle, but it may just do the trick. Will see.
As FYI, I have asked them to send me some more detailed pics and information on the product as I said other members of MBWorld might be interested. Maybe you guys could do a group buy?

True, you would need to go to MACarbon, DCT or MCD (have not seen product yet) for the door pieces. If you have the alloy trim, I don't think it would look so bad. But I agree if you have wood trim, the door trim would be best to have

IMHO it would be difficult to supply a product that would satisfy a MB owner at that price.
Anxious for further info or a brave member who trys it out.

I have ordered just for the hell of it and will see what it looks like installed. Will be the Guinea Pig on this one as well. Maybe I should change my MBWorld name to C63-GP
If junk, well just burned some $ but no biggie. My expectations are low, but I could be pleasantly surprised. On pricing, I am not sure I agree with you. Most of the CF lips/splitter/diffusers sold here and elsewhere are CF wrapped, not pure CF and they seem to be selling well. The pure OEM-fit CF parts are the ones that cost a fortune and many members are tired of paying very high prices. That is my sense of things, but I could be wrong.

Good find and thanks for being guinea pig. Please let us know how it looks like. I do not have high standards so stickons as long as properly cut will work fine for my taste.
I am in for a GB if Harrower gives

Hopefully the quality is good and we appreciate you being the guinea pig for it i'm very skeptical with any "stickons" because i'd be so worried about any of the trims slowly but surely peeling up on the corners on those hot *** days and it would bother the heck out of me ?!?!
Also even with the aluminum trimming i think it'll look strange to still have these on the front and rear doors while having these peices ..... i think they really need to make it with the door peices but just my opinion
Thanks again !

here is thread where someone used CF sheet on their interior. https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...rior-trim.html
Not sure if he still has on but since this was last year, it would useful to know how it held up in heat/cold/humidty etc.

That is different from what you posted. In this link he has CF vinyl on his trim. The one your posting above looks like a thin pre-cut piece of CF with some 3m on the back.

True. I was listing the link as comparison to another possible approach for those who want the same desired outcome/look. Although not the same solution/product, it be interesting to see how the CF wrap the OP did in the other thread lasted - did it crack/fade/peel etc. Someone expressed concern about peeling and would it last.

Here is 9 piece traditional set of CF trim parts that replace OEM. $775.00 is a good price based on what I know of the cost of other vendors
