Steering Groan When Cold...
The first couple times I heard it I thought it was just my imagination. Now I'm sure it's not. When cold, the first turn of the wheel in either direction results in a very pronounced groan/moan from the engine compartment. Anyone else experience this? '09, 14K miles.

Yes, actually these last few weeks I noticed the same thing.
Gonna be hard to reproduce for dealer unless leaving it overnight. Whatever, if it's gonna be a problem warranty all the way.

2007 GL450 2005 C55 2002 C32 sold 2001 ML320 sold
Have had a similar issue on my c55 and previously on a C32 and ML320. In all 3 cases changing the PS fluid helped for a while, but the real fix for me was to put in 4Oz of lubegard (purple) with the next PS fluid change.
I used the Pentosin CHF11 fluid for my changes in the AMGs but the standard MB fluid for the ML.
Hope it helps.

before you fill it up, take the cap off and with the car running turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and to the right like 5 0r 6 times without hitting the end of the turning ratio. you will see some bubbles coming from the pump (thats air) after that let it rest and then fill it up with more fluid... Sometimes when you are low in fluid the pump will suck air and the air is what causes the noise.
