I think that your salesman just doesn't know any better. You have to push for it and be willing to pay. Probably at least $6000 for the paint. They try to reserve the Designo stuff for the flagship cars and it will delay delivery. He had a client that wanted the old gold color MB used to sell and he could get it. But still no accounting for taste...LOL
