Thanks to Jerry @ Eurocharged

I pulled my ecu from my new C63 on Monday the 13th. Sent it to Texas ...less than 48 hours later UPS has it at my door. I have only a few miles so far but the car flies from 5000 rpm to redline now....before, just when the fun was about to start..... the power fell off a bit.

Charcoal filter removal next (quick as the car cools off ) then probably some sort of manifold upgrade later in the fall.

Again, big thanks to Jerry..who called to ask how things were going ...AFter the sale. Much of my experience with tuners/vendors has been opposite.

are you saying that before the tune the car fell off a bit and with the tune it feels a lot stronger up top?

Now the Car flies from 5000 rpm to redline....before the tune ...it started to fall off..
sorry if I was not clear.

Big gains you can feel in your hind end up top (higher rpm) the low end is just as before....strong....seems to like to rev above 5k.... while it pulled onto 7+ when stock, it did not seem to like it..now (aftre tune) if your shifting yourself you need to pay attention..

Just pulled the gray filters....going for a spin... test drive..lol

Very cool. I'm glad you're enjoying your new tune.

Regarding the power falling off above 5000 rpms when the car is stock, that kind of contradicts the power curves shown in stock dyno runs. For example, in my baseline dyno run, the rwhp actually slightly raised and then flattened out above 5000 rpms. Rear wheel torque does begin to fall off precisely after 5000 rpms, though.

Do you know what the AFR is in your Eurocharged tune?

Well if it flattens out, it means the pull kinda falls off.

these cars with a tune just keep going.

Once the throttle bodies are opened up all the way the car pulls hard to redline.

I also had Jerry reprogram my ECU, just a few weeks ago. I can't recall getting the customer service I got from him. It was a Sunday night when I planned on removing it. I thought I knew how to do it, but found out otherwise. Jerry was on the road, but still called me back right away after leaving a voicemail & email. He was extremely patient and helpful and took all the time I needed. I shipped on Monday from Iowa, he did the tune on Tuesday (it wasn't done when the UPS guy came to his shop, so he drove to his local UPS outlet), I received it back on Wednesday. Car runs great. Haven't dynoed, but traction does seem to be more of an issue now. He kept me regularly informed by email during the process and afterward to see that everything turned out ok. I've read nothing but good comments about Jerry and the work that he does, and I was able to experience it firsthand.
This was not a paid advertisement.

I respectfully disagree. I concede this is a minor point, but looking at my dyno graph, which went up to about 6600 rpms (I know that's not redline), the hp definitely raises a bit from 5000 rpms to 6600 rpms -- about 20 hp.

Now, at about 6200 rpms the hp curve basically flattens out until the end. Considering that flattening out point in the curve represents my peak hp and considering it does not fall off until the dyno operator took his foot off the gas, the engine is actually making it's most power and maintaining it until the throttle is released or the gear is changed.

To me, that's not falling off.

But, I understand your logic and it makes sense.

When I compared my stock, baseline dyno graph with a Kleeman K1 tune dyno graph, I can see that the tuned engine makes more hp and tq from the very beginning of the run until the very end of the run.

Interestingly, the hp curve in the K1 tune dyno graph displays the same flattening out of the hp curve from about 6200 rpms to the point where the dyno operator took his foot off the gas, which for this particular run was about 6800 rpms.

I still view my stock C63 hp curve as well as the K1 tune hp curve as linear hp curves that continue to make power until the end of the run or the change of the gear, even if there is some flattening out toward the very end of the run.

I would post the dyno sheets but this isn't a thread about other tunes' dynos. Here's the links, though.

I have to agree with you here. Almost every C63 graph I have seen and done on a dyno shows a flat spot after 5k. butt dyno will show that the car is only slightly pulling, even though we both would agree the car is making power to sustain the pull.

Here is a recent dyno with our tune vs stock.

Trapper- Awesome that you got the experince that you deserved. We have been working extremely hard to do just that.

I think your graph looks good. it only flattens out within the last 600 RPM's. The AFR seems to be richer than the stock file, which isn't a bad thing.

Edit: I just re-checked my stock AFR's and they were 11.5 at the end of the run but they averaged 12.9. My AFR was checked with a sniffer in the tail pipe, which I don't believe gives the most accurate reading when you have cats.

Jerry, I was told that stock C63's have AFR's in the low 10's. And that E63's have AFR's in the high 11's. Does this match your own experiences?

Your car was the one that I linked to earlier in this thread. Your graph looks real nice. Like Jerry said, your AFR looks real good.
