2008 prices

I was browsing this morning on swaplease.com and saw a few 2008 C63 that are advertised with lease take overs. Most have about 11-15 months remaining. What caught me eye is buy it price when lease is up. One was 38K another one was just 33K which had a buy it price on 11/2011. Are these things going to nose dive in a year?

I can tell you this if I can buy one for $33K in a year with under 48K miles as it shows as allowable miles I am all over this.

I think right now the best one could do is about $45K or so on a 2008. Any thoughts? So the car is basically loosing about $1000 a month in value?

If your going to count the dollars that much this car is not for you.

Thoughts? Yes, come up with a few more K and buy MTHIS's car!

Yep,

Just picked up (about a month ago) a CPO 2008 lease return with 24,000 miles on it for 47K. I've been telling myself for the past year or so, if the C63's dipped into the 40K's and I found one to my liking I would pull the trigger. Everyone has to personally decide what is actually "worth it to you". Propain has a certainly valid point of stating that if counting the dollars is the number one priorty, then maybe an AMG is not the best choice. Any modern "attainable" sports car is always a poor "investment." AMG's are wonderful cars to drive, but there are way too many of them to hold any sort of collectible or stable value in the future. The value lies in how much you may appreciate the individual model or Brand. Please enjoy your cars for what they are. Propain's advice of getting into it and out after a few years, is actually the best advice if you always want the most desirable newest ride and want highest residual value. However, If you really desire a car and are likely keeping it there is more to it than that. I've had my eye on the C63 since it's inception, backed out of a deal in 2009, and finally found a deal in mid to late 2010, when it was "worth it for me." It is the perfect daily driver for me.
