Get the 2011 C63 or wait for the new engine?

Yes. According to my dealer it arrives around april ´11. I really like the design of the current C so not sure if i wanna wait for an "improvement". Currently driving an "old" E63 and would like a grey C 63 SW.

2015 Porsche C2S, 2014 ML63 AMG, & 2012 Maserati Quattroporte S
From all the pictures I've seen, I really think that we can just buy the bumper and install on to our car, I just don't know the exact measurement to confirm if its a yes.
BTW, I got a confirm from my Sales Rep. at my dealership (Toronto Downtown Mercedes) that the new engine will arrive in their showroom next summer. They are: S 63, CL 63, SL 63, and ML 63. He didn't mention C 63. Was there at the showroom today to test drive the 2010 SL 63 and ML 63 as I am replacing my 2007 S 63 and 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe.

Wish i'd live somewhere where cars don't basically cost a thing
Starting price here on a new C63 is 115000 €. Still worth it...sort of ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I recommend the ML. Last car i owned was a 2006 ML 63 and it was awesome. Especially after i installed a set of Supersprint exhaust systems on it. The sound started reminding of the C63 which was what i was after at that time.

No replacement for displacement
The 6.2L NA engine revs like a I6 but pulls like a V8: it's a ridiculous engine and when mashed into a tiny little C-class chassis, it becomes a ridiculously fun car.
The 335 has a very strong motor, and it is fast, but you don't get the sensation of speed. Basically, the acceleration feel is non-linear: you push the pedal the first 20% and you get nothing, then the boost comes on and you feel the shove, then you run out of boost at the top end. Objectively, you are going fast, but you don't FEEL like you're going fast.
The M3 with the high rev V8 feels even wimpier than the 335. I'm sure it's objectively faster, but nothing really happens until you get above 5000rpm. It's a lot of fun to rev an engine to 8000 rpm between shifts, but that gets annoying after awhile. Off the line, which is what you will be doing 95% of the time, it feels no faster than the 335.
With the 6.2 (at least in an E63: I've only test driven the C63), the monster torque shoves you immediately off the line with the first 20% of pedal pressure, then builds linearly all the way to the rev limiter way up at 7000 rpm. What you feel is the tremendous rocket booster thrust of a V8, but the pressure and speed builds up at the speed of a I6, with none of the non-linear feel of the turbos. Having been in 911 C4S, M3, M5, etc., NOTHING feels like the 6.2. It's probably the only car I've been in where it feels like the car is OVERPOWERED, every time. The overlay of luxury, Mercedes bulletproof heavy feel, and the elegant design (have you ever heard a rapper or singer crone about their BMW? Don't think so) just makes the AMGs that much more special.
As awesome as the numbers look for the new 5.5 DI TT, it is still a twin-turbo, with the turbo lag that comes with it, and the non-linear acceleration feel. A forced displacement car always feels different vs a natural displacement engine. This is something numbers in a magazine just cannot capture. Those of us who have driven both know exactly what I mean.
If you have the means, get the 6.2 now. I agree that in the current environmental climate, turbos will be the wave of the future and muscle cars like these will not be made again.
Enjoy!

pretty much exactly my thoughts about the 6.2, reminds me of that line in the Road Warrior "Last of the V8 interceptors, be a shame to blow 'er up", given the political climate we may be seeing more turbos and for me my daily driver should be a NA car

I'm pretty sure he meant c300 with the AMG package. lol He's talking about C300 and the BMW 330i. He should repost it to the regular W204 forum.
