CTS-V Coupe... ?
Well, I sat in a new CTS-V Coupe at the dealer the other day. It was black exterior with a black-yellow/gold interior. A bit gaudy, but a bit cool as well. The dash was black leather with the same yellow stitching as the rest of the interior... seats, floormats, etc. The center panels of the seats were yellow leather and might have been something I could do without. I didn't like the large amount of uninterrupted sheet metal above the rear wheels because it didn't match well with the sculpted lines of the front and rear bumpers. A more boxy flare over the rear wheels would be more consistent with the rest of the car and would make that car look TOUGH.
What I did like is the level of trim and interior appointments you get in a $70K Cadillac supercar in comparison to the C-Class trim we get in our 63's. For the money, MB should up the antie. Just my opinion. Still would take the 63 over the CTS-V, but not an easy call.

'09 C63 AMG
Fast car, but it doesn't feel any faster than the C63 at least in the sedan...not sure about the new coupe; not as tossable as the C63 AMG either (again comparing the sedan not the coupe). Also, you would need to go drive it; unless they made some significant improvements to the auto tranny, I recall it being painfully slow (to change gears) in the sedan. You also hit the nail on the head in terms of the typical Caddy "flashiness;" they tend to be a bit on the gaudy side for some reason.

I also like the style of the CTSV interior. A bit more class than the C63 in my opinion.
I hate the way it looks though... Ugly as sin in a 2 door...

2009 C63 with Eurocharged tune and charcoal delete
I am not a big fan of the styling either, but I have to give Caddy their props for having the ***** to do something different and exciting even if it's not for everyone. There will be people out there who totally love the looks, and you have to admit their interiors are pretty damn nice for the money. So many of the imports now, including the germans, are so bland and are just the same styling in three different sizes. The new 5 series looks so much like a 3 that I can barely tell them apart, and until I see the tail lights sometimes I can't even tell a C-Class from a new E. Caddy just said what the hell and totally went for it, and now days you gotta love that from any car company.

The coupe looks UGLY I think. Just a awful looking thing. It would be like if GOD FORBID Mercedes made a C63 AMG Hatchback.

not a fan of the V coupe looks wise. the rear quarters and rear end do nothing for me. the car will be wicked fast however. im still in love with my C63 and i dont see that changing for a long time. too much money to replace it all the time and it truely is the perfect car for what i use it for. (dinner out on the weekend and something to stand around and look at while i drink beers!) my buddies have vipers and vettes and they all LOVE the C63.

Caddy Tires are 255/40R19 for the Front and 285/35-19 for the Rear. 295 might be too big. Tramlining on the highway is no fun. lol
