Why did you get the c63 over the m3 or ctsV?

It's going to be a long *** winter.
RS-4 isn't available in Canada.

Wrong! BMW requires you to pay a $1300 gas guzzler tax. It's less than the $2100 you have to pay for a C63, but you still have to pay for it.

To figure the gax tax.. go look here...
http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/guzzler/420f06042.htm
Anything that gets 22.5mpg combined does not pay the tax, anything less, and the numbers add up quick.

Looked at the CTS-v, M3 and IS-F before buying the C63. I wanted something different so M3 was out, like the IS-f but needs a few years refinement. That left the CTS-V and I'm not interested in a GM. C63 was at the front of the pack for me........

I got on the V8 M3 waiting list in May 2005. I waited 3 years but then bailed for the C63 in May 2008 because BMW was already having issues with the DCT and electronically adjustable suspension. Too much technology for technology's sake. What about the driving experience? What about reliability over time?
I've owned an M car before, and it really has to be spanked to be fun. That's just not realistic the majority of the time. The C63 is way more usable in the real world (although I have had mine on a race track too!)
I chose the C63 because AMG kept it simple, loud and unapologetic. I like that attitude.

All I have to say is that when I saw the commercial on TV of the CTS-V racing in Nuremburg I had to drop everything at work for a moment and focus. It gave me a semi.

2014 CTS-V (6spd, phantom grey), 2010 Cadillac Escalade ESV (black raven)
When the lease on my M5 was coming to an end, I tested the w212 E63, Porsche Panamera, and CTS-V sedan.
Ended up getting the Caddy for a number of reasons...Porsche overpriced and underpowered; E63 overpriced and LSD does not come standard on >500hp car, duh.
The CTS-V coupe came out afterwards, but I've driven it at Monticello fairly aggressively.
The handling characteristics are nearly identical to the sedan.
Despite the price similarities with C63 and M3, it really should be compared to the E63 and M5.
C and 3 series owners would probably complain the Caddy is too big...

M3 - no torque. Daily driving not as fun as the throttle response just isnt the same.
CTS-V - felt like a yacht. Too big. Interior also not my cup of tea. Not a huge fan of exterior styling.
C63 - just right.

Long time listener ... First Time Caller ...
After 3 BMWs ... I finally got my first MB yesterday ...
torque, looks won me over with the c63 ..
But after selling my 545 (6psd) I really wanted to get away from BMW brand ...
I wanted a fun car but I couldn't do the perception of a "young M3 driver" (DB comes to mind) ... though everyonne must think I'm a douche for accidentally squealing my tires when going in reverse out of my gas stall yesterday (first day in my new car)

In Ontario we get dinged with the Federal Green Levy, and the Ontario Fuel Tax.
M3:
- $1200 (Ontario Fuel Tax)
- $0 (Federal Green Levy)
C63:
- $1200 (Ontario Fuel Tax)
- $2000 (Federal Green Levy)
The difference is still $2,000, but in Ontario now we get to pay an extra $1200 for the pleasure.

i looked at the IS-F and CTS-V. they were willing to deal on the IS-F. No good deals on the CTS-V. C63 = 15k off sticker. hard to beat that. plus i liked the C63 styling, motor, exhaust, and feel better anyway. only drove the IS-F and V to make sure i wasnt making a mistake by taking my first pick.
didnt look at the M3 because the dealers in my area never budge on price and to be honest i just wanted 4 doors and i HATE the look of the M3 sedan.

This is NOT why it's no longer available (and the RS4 is a far different and more exciting steer btw)...it's because the RS4 was based on the B7 chassis and last year their released the all new B8...so B7s haven't been made in about 24 mos.
