Media Interface Plus
If you are like me, and can't sync your contact list to your C63, using your iPhone, well this looks like this might be the solution. I don't know if any of you are aware of this fact, but Mercedes Benz just released a Media Interface Plus which is a plug & play entertainment solution for vehicles with iPod / MP3 Media Interface. It enables you to take your world of music and entertainment with you on the road similiar to Sirius/XM Radio, which I love by the way. From your iPod playlists, videos and Pandora Radio to Bluetooth Audio Streaming and mobile contacts, make your driving experience unique. Features of the Media Interface Plus include:
Pandora® Radio for iPhone® (3G, 3GS, 4)
Steering wheel buttons and the central controller will allow you to listen & control the Pandora® app.
Playlists can easily be accessed and songs be given a "Thumbs UP" or "Thumbs DOWN".
Bluetooth® Audio Streaming
Audio content or the Pandora® app can be streamed wirelessly from your mobile phone.
Functionality limited to central controller and track selection.
iPod® / iPhone® Audio & Video²

I just got of the phone with a parts representative at American Service Center, and I was quoted $298. I'm waiting confirmation from my Shop Foreman, that this will rectify my contact list issue. If so, then a new purchase is in the works for me.

Well, I have an update. I bought the media Interface yesterday, and I have been messing around with it. Well today, I went to my local dealership MB of Alexandria, because I knew that Brian knew how to get this thing to working. When I messed with it, I got Pandora and the bluetooth streaming to work. But for the life of me, I couldn't get the phonebook to download to my COMAND. Well Brian, who is a salesman, bought one for his C350, and got the phonebook to download, and said that he could do it for my car as well. After messing around with it for 40 minutes, we got the blasted thing to work. man, am I happy now. The interface sells for $355, I got it for $240 employee price due to a hook up from my local parts salesman. The interface will work as advertized just be patience with it.

The one thing that I learned is that for some reason, the MIP doesn't want to play video from my iPhone, you can hear the sound but not the video. So today, I will upload videos to my iPod, and try it, I know that it will work. but the streaming audio feature, phonebook and Pandora works. Haven't tried the text message and email yet. one good feature is that it charges your iPhone or iPod while it's connected. I'm glad that i bought it.

You need to have the iPod integration kit, with your Multi-Media package. This will work with MY09 to MY11 C Class C300, C350 and C63. If you have the connections for an IPod in your glove box, it will work. I picked mine up from American Service Center. Go to my first post, and click on the links for more information.

You need to have the iPod integration kit, with your Multi-Media package. This will work with MY09 to MY11 C Class C300, C350 and C63. Give your local Mercedes Dealer a call, and ask them that question, like a said my car doesn't have 518, just MM with iPod interface cable.

I'm going to be selling my MEDIA PLUS.
It isn't so good in a SLK, when you don't have Multimedia.
1) There isn't much room to plug it in
2) Bluetooth and Pandora work fine
3) I just don't need bluetooth and pandora really.
I have all the original packaging and of course you know it's like new as it just came out.
I paid $223.50 plus $20-odd shipping.
However, I will sell it for $224 including Ground Shipping.
PM me if interested.

So your car has the older style iPod interface that only displayed on the instrument cluster and now you are able to see song, artist info on the COMAND screen with control from the center knob?

You need the Media Interface functionality to begin with, and then this adds to it.

If you can disconnect the cable, you have Media Interface probably, and you might be able to use it.
If you can use it, it would add Pandora and Bluetooth streaming. More features may be added in the future. For some cars, it can also add the ability to pull up videos from the device.

Consider the Media Plus Sold. It didn't actually sell, but I wanted to much for it I guess.
Therefore, I'm just going to keep it. I won't use it too often, but might as well keep it since I have it I guess.

That Mercedes Benz will release a software update in the 1stQtr of FY11, that will introduce text messaging and email for the (MIP) Media Interface Plus. So if you bought one like me, then you will recieve the update, make sure that you keep your reciept. My friend Jack will give me a heads up, when the update is released. But I'm sure that I will hear scuttlebutt about it, before he does. Because, I'm typically in the know about such things via the internet.
