Liar Honda Accord hit my AMG
I haven't been angry at anything for a long time but what happened today really set me off.
I was adjusting my car in a parking spot at a ghetto plaza. Suddenly, I saw an accord backing toward my car. I immediately stopped and honked my horn. Unfortunately, he didn't stop and kept backing toward me. I popped my car into D and tried to move forward to dodge this idiot driver but it was too late. He hit my AMG!
I immediately jumped off my car and slapped his trunk to tell him to stop his car. This guy got off and denied he did it. He said I hit him
I told him to get out his insurance info, and we exchanged information.
What should I do next? I've never got into an accident before so I don't know the procedure. It really pissed me off that how he can blatantly lie when he knew he slammed into my car.
I've attached a picture of this liar and his car.

no, I didn't call the police because I thought it wasn't a serious damage. Should I have done it?
It's really bad that it's not enough to be a good driver yourself because other idiot drivers will slam into you.

Would have been ideal to have a police report, even though in most cases and areas police may not even respond or show up. Of course he is lying, he needs to protect himself. You needed to take pics (like you did), maybe any witnesses and gather as much info as you can (ie, distances, position of you car and his, time of day, location of sun, etc.) because now you have to fight this stupid liar.
Sorry about that. Hope you can get it fixed and be back to normal again.

If it was me I would have called the police right after it happened but I also heard they will not do anything because it was in the parking lot so im not sure. Hopefully, someone can chime in this case.

What should I do? Do I contact my insurance company and send them a full report detailing the exact event?

Wow dude that sucks sorry to hear that. Dishonest guys like that get on my last nerve!!!
If he just said sorry and told you hes insurance would cover it would be cool. But if he told you that its your fault, then that's a messed up move on his part. I would just make his insurance cover the damage on your car.
I hope everything goes good for you man, i know what a messed up feeling it is because ive been through it too. But everything will turn out fine, so don't worry about it.

no big deal. The two insurance companies will battle it out. Thats why you pay insurance, let them do the work. They will ask what happened and they will likely call it a no fault accident .
Your insurance will pay for your repairs and his will repair the Accord.
Sadly most people will not accept responsibility and will do whatever they can to get out of being "at fault", this is why most states are "no fault" states

Same thing happened to me and my Saab not too long ago. i drove to the bus station to pick up my best friend and i over shot the parking spot, i was about to back up but realized a middle aged woman behind me backing up so i thought you know , i'll let her get out then i'll readjust but 2 mins later my parking assistance goes crazy and wham. luckily for her she didnt do any damage.
but i hope everything works out in your favour.

Should have called the police out for a private property, property damage only courtesy accident report (and advised dispatch that the other party was denying fault)...now it's his word against yours....an officer could have cut through that pr1ck's bull**** and convinced him to fess up.

All the above advice is great. In the future if and when you do have another incident (hopefully you won't) both of you should write what happened in paper form and sign it for your insurance. That won't work in this case, since the other party didn't take responsibility for his actions.

He should get a little better than 50% because he was almost fully out of his spot and the other driver is still mostly in his spot. Good luck, Nickia. It is a good thing you took the pic with the cars in the position as it happened and showing the parking spot lines.

Unfortunate situtation, but that's why you have insurance. Two cars, both moving, private property... it'll be up to each other's insurance to fix their own 99 out of a 100 times.
OP, just take it to the best body shop in your area (where do the exotics go for bodywork? That's where you want to go too.) Be good as new before you know it.

Its most likely going to end up as 50/50 fault. Only way you will get 100% is if somebody rear ended you. I got T-Boned after a guy ran a red light and they found us 50% percent at fault because in there eyes i could've magically avoided the accident.

I suggest don't report it to the insurance company and suck it up paying for the damage on your car. If you report it, your insurance will increase. Just a suggestion...

Your insurance should not increase in a no fault accident (which is what this will most likely be). You will have to however pay your deductible. If you make too many claims, or any at fault claims are made against your insurance, you can expect the rates to skyrocket.
The OP did not mention what state they were in, insurance laws vary by state.

Has anyone ever contemplated that it might be an insurance scam, on the honda owners part. It does happen, run in a expensive car, because you know the owner has insurance, and get paid????????

That person would have to be an idiot because he is not even fully out of his space. There are better ways to perpetrate insurance fraud.

While we're on the topic i think my neighbor scratched my car today while he was parking. He has a C-class estate (w204) that is in such a bad shape that you wouldn't believe. Scratches everywhere, in all corners.
So i found a scratch this morning with his car parked behind me, and a similarly large scratch on his bumper. I called him about it and he just said he hasn't done anything.
I think he's lying but can't prove a thing My poor E63...
