Nice job Dave but I would stay with the black grill rather than get the CF one.
The hood and tinted tails look amazing.
CF Madness

I followed your lead on the mirrors and painted them black I'll post some pics this weekend. I also blacked out my foglights with vinyl but the Philips Crystal Vision 4300k bulbs suck bigtime and I have to wait with the install until I find better bulbs. I need some 6000k or 8000k bulbs

CF including the top part on the hood!

Quote: need some feedback on possible direction - once I will paint the top of the grill black the look would be solid black. This would be one option - the other option i am looking at is getting a CF grill as per attached pics. Any thoughts here as to what direction might look better?

Thanks Mort. Just seems once I get one mod done that another appears and the list never gets smaller. Ah, the madness of it all

Matt, thanks man. Yes CF madness rules! Post pics of the mirrors. I actually think this makes the car look great and gets rid of the ugly (IMHO) chrome and clear lens. Get some LEDs from AZN - I used 8000K in them and they work great.

Cool. Got email from Carl this morning and he is still vented hood counter to what was posted before. Product is excellent and I could not be happier with it. Carl is a great guy and has excellent customer support. Go for it and join the CF madness!

They correct size is 57mm but i have yet to find a actual hood emblem that is this size. So I opt'd to get wheel cover sticker and place on hood. The one in the pics is 56mm and there are 57mm ones out there as well in AMG colored fruit salad look. Hopefully someone will make a proper AMG emblem in 57mm in near future.

would get these if I am do a Cf roof...that is a ways off. After last few CF mods it is time to focus on LTH (MHP), upgraded LSD, KW, new ECU flash, and other performance mods. The car looks the "part" - now it needs to act the "part"

But what I meant were full CF rims like these:
http://www.carbonfibergear.com/weds-...n-fiber-wheel/

The price is insane $10'000 - $12'000

Forget it! One turn under power on a track and I can just hear that crackling sound as the CF lets loose. Nice rims but pure "bling" factor.

I ordered the OEM-style C/F Hood and Trunk. They'll be coming via DHL.

Should be about 65-lbs in combined weight savings.

Which trunk has a better weave the VIS or stonecarbon? I know some said the VIS was wavy, but it comes with the CF chrome strip...?

I have seen a VIS and indeed the weave is not perfect. Based on my experience with StoneCarbon I would venture to say that his weave will be good. That said, i have never seen his trunk. I think Super just ordered his trunk so he should be able to give feeback on SC trunk. Not a fan of chrome so that makes no difference to me.

The chrome strip isn't part of the trunk lid. It is an OEM part that attaches to your stock trunk lid or the Stone Carbon trunk lid. It is the same part that houses the license plate lights, trunk release, back-up cam, etc.

Here are some more great photos of the Stone Carbon trunk lid. Be sure to check out page two for some installed photos. -> https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ml#post4225200

Gotcha. I guess I'm in the minority. I actually prefer the contrast of the chrome strip against the carbon fiber.
