Dads Performance offers the Louvered Hood!!
#276
Count me as another who is interested in air freight. I had planned on shipping the hood directly to my shop (C&C) in Pasadena so it is L.A. area also. This is not a matter of "wanting" but more one of "needing" to get it on. Perhaps the cost of air shipping 3 or 4 in one crate might lessen the cost, not to mention I don't want you chipping in (thank you for the offer though!).

Do to the delay in delivery I have been researching the air freight involved and I have two options.
Option 1. - I can have either three for $930 ($310 each) or five for $1490 ($298 each) bundled together and shipped to me air. Thats a 3-5 day delivery when completed late February. Then I will offer to pay the freight to you where ever you are inside the states.
Option 2 is to have the hood shipped direct to you door to door DHL and thats roughly $500 each. Still 3-5 day delivery but thats direct to you.
If we can get either three or five guys who want to pay the additional air freight I will arrange the shipment as soon as they are complete. Please let me know if you are interested. Just to be clear, if you pay the additional air freight I will pay the ground to you here in the states so the air is all you'll pay in freight. Its really only a $200 bump because you were paying the ground here in the states anyway so its not a huge increase for the time saved. I am the first to sign up so we need two more or if we get four more its a little less.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I can wait, not in any hurry especially with all these snow storms... probably not gonna drive my baby for a while.
Keith, how's that paint job 411? Do you just need my paint code or the actual OEM part (i.e. my rear deck spoiler I took off) to ship to you to guarantee the paint match? Thanks.

I'm looking to do the opposite of what Howard did. I wan't to paint
the center section Obsidian Black, leave the vents and the outside
sections CF. You should have my paint code and vin.

Keith,
Hood is well received and going onto the car this week. Thanks again for a great product!
I had a couple of questions and would appreciate some info on this from you or anyone else who can advise me on this; I'm still worried about water going down the vents... Should I worry? I live in London and we have a lot of rain..... I dont have an indoor garage and my car lives outside- I guess a good quality all weather car cover will do the job. Also if I go for a car wash- is it advisable to cover the vents? I dont really want soap/water/wax going down into the engine bay...
Thanks

We ran my car through car washes and we live in Florida which gets a good amount of rain and never had a problem. One other question that I'm not sure about is snow because we don't have snow. The weight of snow might be too much for a carbon fiber hood but that would be true for any C/F hood. Maybe someone who lives in a snowy area can help you with that question.
However, back to the car washes and rain, I believe you will be fine.
Stonecarbon should be back into production as we speak and I'll get a shipping update this week. Thank you all agan for your patience and I believe they will be worth the wait!!

You will have no issues with hood and snow at all. I have CF hood and have left the car outside during heavy snow and there has been no warping or other issues related to weight. That been said, I would not let ice build-up on hood as this is actually much more of weight issue. So unless you get 3ft of heavy wet snow, then I think you should be ok.

Stonecarbon just went back into production yesterday. They are supposed to be able to ship a few hoods very soon and yours is one of them. I am pushing them as much as I can. I will advise as soon as they begin shipping again.
