That couldnt be a better statement for me today during lunch.
Running around today I stumble upon a M3. Very nice looking machine I must say. Dark Grey with blacked out rims. Very nice indeed.
Hes ahead of me getting onto the parkway. Im about 3 cars back. We merge and the left lane is open. I hammer it blowing past the car in front of me and as I pass him throw it into N and give it a good Vrooom!!
and the fun begins...
Very cool guy. Just pacing me waiting for traffic to clear. On this parkway there is a spot going to the beach where it opens up and no one is on it during the week. He pulls next to me... we pace... I was.. 60MPH... he hits it first.. I hammer it. Ccccccyyyyaaaaa.... 6 cars at least.
I slow and wait.. he pulls behind and signals.. I get off where he was heading. He slow down. He starts down shifting with me. His cars sounds sick. Big time exhaust work done. We go again from a 20 roll. I let him jump first and we go. I pull past him and get about 2 cars on him.
Next light.
"Holy Sh%t that car is an animal!!"
"You got work done??"
I didnt have the heart to say "tune only" I said "Yeah, I got some stuff done" "She has about 530 at the crank"
He replies "Ohhh thank god!!" "I was about to say!!"
I said "Your car is really nice and sounds sick!!"
His reply "Thanks, All exhaust"
We both go on our way.

Cool story, TS. I like the sound of M3's. I'm sure the one you ran sounded really good.
But, I'm sure your car sounded better blowing by him.

I wonder if a stock or mild bolt-on M3 can beat a P31 C63 or a tuned C63 on a track. Seems like the extra power in a tuned C63 might be able to make up for the M3's better handling and run a quicker time at a track.

i ate a M5 for dinner on the way home, it was a 50 or so to 120 sprint. i don't think he had it on 500 sport because it was bad for him maybe 4 - 5 cars. at the light he smiled and gave the thumbs up. he was a nice guy. i think the OP and I must have fond the only 2 nice M drivers in the US

i raced a s5 today.. i got owned im ashamed to say. The roads here are soooo smooth and dusty, i spin even when i have half acceleration. quattro does make sense even in city driving in china

yes with them skinny sticks at the back it sure is hard to get of the line quick. but still his/her 0-60 is way behind yours you shoudl have had him. Maybe he had some work done.
