Cant go from C to S to M. stuck on C
I haven't driven my car on either S or M mode for a whillllllle.
Today I decided to have some fun driving and i pressed C/S/M button to switch C to S but it didn't work at all! No matter how many times I click it, it stays C. I turned off the engine and retried to switch, but still...
Is there any of you guys have experienced this kinds of malfunction before? Any advice/help would be truly appreciated! TIA and happy Thanksgivings!

Take it to the dealer and they'll fix it. Its obviously an electronic glitch.
For instance, when u drive in Manual and shut the car off and then restart the car, it should start up in "S" mode. My car stopped doing that about 3 days ago.
I'm going to take my car in and see what they say.
Sorry this is happeninging to you. Have you tried downshifting with the paddle shifter when you're driving in "C" mode? Does your DIC show "D1, D2, D3," etc... it should be inside a little white lit-up box, brick, whatever you want to call it.

Because you exceeded the threshold of continuous miles driven in comfort mode the DHRS (driver habit recognition system) programmed into the ECU has activated WIMP mode. This should not be confused with LIMP mode which to the contrary gets activated when the driver abuses the crap out of the car and it just can't take anymore.
You are now banned for life from the S and M modes unless you attend the AMG Driving Academy.
All kidding aside, I would bet it is the switch itself but the dealer will know for sure……then get out there and drive that beast.

Historically, with my car, whenever I would drive in M and turn the car off and then restart it, it would always start up in S. I guess because, the ECU realized I was driving a bit more aggressively in M so it would start me off in S.
Now, it won't start off in S. But, to be honest, I have not been pushing my car at all lately.
So, we'll see. Perhaps it's in Wimp Mode.

Thanks for advices guys! Lol @ wimp mode!
Interestingly, next day (today) morning, I started my car and clicked c/s/m again, and.........it worked !!! Why why why didn't it work yesterday and work normally today? I don't get it...
But since morning, it's been working fine... So I hope it last long.

Sounds like a recurring problem, so a visit to the dealer to at least have them record the issue would seem to be in order. Sounds to me like you need a new switch.
Face it, you are meant to drive in wimp mode and that is it ...LOL, Not!

This is my theory about what trans mode the car will start in upon it's first start after driving it in Manual mode: If you drive aggressive enough in Manual mode -- I don't know what the threshold is -- when you start the car the next time, it will probably start in Spot mode.
I think for the car to start up in Sport mode, the adaptation must think that you are wanting to drive the car in an aggressive manner and it will provide Sport upon start up.
Even if I drive in Manual mode but not very hard, when I turn the car off and then restart it, it will usually start up in Comfort mode.
Basically, you have to earn a Sport-mode-start-up.

Glad you found this thread, I was looking for it yesterday after I saw your other thread, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, it's probably just some electronic glitch.
