from the installation of mine, they easy to fit, but it would be wise if you use a hoist. Apparently getting in from underneath makes life very easy.

I read on MHP headers, you will need to disconnect the steerring shaft that goes to the rack. Ask Mthis, he and his friend installed theirs using jack stands.

it took me almost 4 hours to get the headers on the passenger side out. It's really tight and I pearly could move my hands. Now the bottom screws for the driver side is out but the top ones still. It is pain in A$$ to get them out and I don't know how I will be able to do them tomorrow. anyone gone through same experience ? any tips ?

It was not easy at all. removing the cat was piece of cake, but the headers are big time consumer. what tools did you use to get access to the screws ?

Have you tried accessing the upper nuts by removing the airboxes?

1st 3 top screws should come out from top. The last top screw towards the driver should comeout from under the car.

I was about to post the exact same topic as I'm gonna probably give it a go myself too.

Cayenne_ksa - Please post any tips/tricks you work out along the way, I'd love to be able to finish this in a day's work.

Alex, we fitted my whole exhaust in about 4 hours, but to do removal of stock and ment of new i wouldsay should take the whole day because u have to wire up rear flaps. I would recommend getting a work shop to do it
where r u located in aus?

Im in Melbourne.

I know I can get a workshop to do it, but honestly, I just want to do it myself. I miss messing with cars :P, it's half the fun.

I have a friend who runs a car audio shop anyway, so he can help with the wiring and also has a hoist and like.. seriously... EVERY tool from the Snap-On catalog

and yeah it took me decades to unscrew and screw the headers. I don't know if it's the tools or our hands but it's so tight and I can pearly move my hands.

Installing a 63 header

Here are some tips:

To make the install as easy as possible, start by removing he airbox. the disconnect and removing the coil packs and pug wires as one unit. You are going to need all the room you can get. Under the car disconnect the steering shaft from the car. TIP: make sure your steering wheel in side the car is dead strait; do not move the steering wheel when the shaft is off or you could risk messing up your steering angle sensor.

once you have the stock manifolds removed you can start installing the headers. However after removing the stock manifolds, you may run into a manifold/header stud that did not come loose instead the whole stud backed out nut included. Dont worry you can just put it back in.

Pending on the design of the header flange being about to get to the bottom studs/nuts can be very tricky. You may want to think about removing a heat shield to help with room to work. Some times you wish your fingers had eyes when installing a 63 header.

wow thanks for the great info MBH and I highly appreciate your support. I didn't miss with the coils but I did removed the air filter and disconnect the steering shaft but didn't know about the steering sensor. Fortunately I didn't touch the steering and it was left straight before work stablished.

as of now everything is almost done and I'm uploading some pix

here is what I would like to make sure about.

factory system has the sensor before and after the cats. In the cargraphic system it's a bit different. Do you I need to do anything about the wires ?

Also the point where all pipes join in one pipe, do i need to do any kind of sealing ?

The heat shield must stay right?

Has anyone wrapped their headers in that cloth tape?

Feedback about said cloth tape?
