C63 as entry level AMG?
I think there's very little argument that the C63 is the "entry" level AMG, but I bought it because unlike an E or an S AMG, the C63 is a quick, fun car, not a boat with a truly excessive engine. The lightweight (ok, relatively lightweight) layout + a hugely capable engine (modded or not) was the combination that led me to choose the C over the E or S. And obviously keeping the $$$ difference in my pocket didn't hurt anyone.
Why did other members choose the C63 over the E, S, SL, etc.?
The main reason I picked the C63 is because it's a compact sedan, and the meanest looking one! Up to date, I would still pick the C63 over any other sedan in the market.
SL63 didn't cross my mind because I wanted a four door, but that's a ***king beast to be reckoned with!

The M3 is also BMW's least expensive M as well, but as we know, these are the more "enthusiast cars" compared with the more expensive AMG's and M's.
I agree, but within AMG, the C is the obvious choice for the label "entry level"
1. I love the involvement of a manual transmission, but no stick compares to the speed and pure fun the paddle shifters were (in my eyes)
2. The GT500 is a tank, albeit the fastest tank you've ever heard of, but nonetheless a tank. Right now in my life, I think a quick & light(er) car suits me more.
3. I don't have kids, but stuffing all the hockey stuff into a coupe with a small trunk opening had proven to be difficult.
4. The live rear axle, while not a dealbreaker, makes itself known at least twice every trip I go on (even to the grocery store).
5. Let's face it, when compared to the C63, it's a Ford.
Now, I do love the Shelby for its strengths, but I think the C63's strengths are more to my liking.

Or I dunno if you like BMW but the M3 might be a great deal for the handling department.
I loved your C... One of the best sounding/looking cars, I always enjoyed seeing it at Starbucks

If money was not a deciding factor in your decision, would you still have selected the C versus other AMGs (read: not a Veyron, etc.)?
The bigger body AMG platforms are amazing as well, but I prefer the C.
