I still like the interior more, even if it does take a major page out a BMWs book. Its just looks more upscale. The radio button in the current model look very cheap to me.

Will they fit...

I kinda like the new front end abit, would not mind seeing if we could retrofit the new bumper and led fog lights.

Also.. the interior is what we should have gotten.. *sigh* and the COMMAND Online.. I want it.. probably cost a fortune.. but I bet we could retrofit that into our cars as well..

Does MB usually change the AMG models during a facelift for the regular counterpart?

When I had my e46 M3 they facelifted the 3er but didnt touch the M.

M3 did get a facelift just not as extensive as the regular 3 series.. For sure headlights and taillights were changed.

headlights were also changed. Those are the only two I know for sure because didn't the original M3 headlights have orange lenses for the turn signals then they switched to orange bulbs?

The e46 M3 came with cleared out lenses and an orange bulb. I think in '03 they facelifted the 3 series so the front light sloped up instead of down, but the M3 was left untouched except two new colors and LED tail-lights which could be retrofitted.

Im hoping the C63 remains untouched in the facelift - thats one less thing we have to worry about wen it comes time to sell or trade in.

They are so copycat/trendy/required now on every new car (curse you Audi for starting this trend...) and to me even on a Porsche they look like high-school aftermarket Honda tuning. As usual the designers took a very clean and elegant first generation design and "facelifted" it just for the sake of change and did not improve on the original (previous examples of this syndrome are too numerous to even list). So far, with the various styling, options, and engine changes that Mercedes has confirmed for the next couple years there is absolutely nothing that makes me want to "upgrade" to a newer model. Time to award a big "FAIL" to Benz's marketing department, although to cut them some slack I think many of these changes are being forced on them by new emmission and safety regs. Guess I will have to wait and see what's out there around 2014 when I have over 100K much enjoyed high-speed miles on my glorious 2009 Palladium Silver C63. I am in no hurry to buy anything else.
Amen to all of that, brotha. Keep the steering wheel and taillights, ditch all the other changes. The headlights look way more feminine, and the center of the dash is totally BMW E9x as you're all saying. The COMAND MMI online sounds pretty cool, though. Would love a retrofit for that...

Josh

Let me know when you find a source for these! Seeing as you're in Europe, I assume you'll get your hands on these before us. That's the first thing I want to change too.

Id say they do look very similar, much more so than the E90 3 Series.... The new C-Class looks much classier than the 5 series though, kinda sad because it should be competing with the E-Class for fit a finish and its lost out to the C-Class IMHO.

New C-Class

2011 5 Series

New C-Class

2011 5 Series

Have you sat in the new 5 series? Its worlds apart from the current C63 interior refinement. Its SOOOOOO comfortable. Everything feels clumsy in the C63 next to it. Everything is just so accessible and in the perfect place in the 5 series. (In my opinion)

Hopefully the 2012 does what it looks like, add some more class to the C class because its lacking at the moment. But hell... its a C class and I didn't buy the C63 for its interior.

Which is clumsier to compare a C interior to 5 series or the C interior itself?

My thoughts exactly. The interior design looks like they took a step back in time. The doors look like the ripped them right off an old school M3. The only features i like are the new steering wheel design, the seats, and the center console A/C knobs and command knob. You can keep everything else MB.

The more I look at it, the more I see BMW designs. I just noticed that the center A/C vents are almost identical to the ones I had in my M roadster. So is the steering wheel design, even though I actually like it. Did MB hire BMW designers???????

+1

I was saying the same thing. I think they very much looked at the 5 series design and went from there.

I didnt even notice how much the doors look JUST like the E46 sport pkg doors... I really want to see this C-Class int with the wood grain and CF... I think that we all hate it some much because its got that cheap fake silver trim...

Oh, I think the current C-Class int is a major let down. Just like when the W203 came out.. Yikes. It seems like MB always does their best int work with the face lifted cars... The first w203 int was a nightmare and the face lifted one is still my favorite C-Class int. This new one looks like it has the right stuff to compete with the face lifted w203 but I haven't sat in it yet... I really do think these shots cheapen the new int with the fake silver trim crap. Put some nice wood or CF in that puppy and then come back... If that 5-Series pictures I posted had silver trim, people would hate it too.

I would really need to see this in person, to absolutely make a decision.
As I don't think that this is the final production model. But so far a like some bits, and others not so much.
