Looking to get a GLC43 AMG
Purchase question

I am looking at two used black C63(s). The first one is a 2009 certified and the other is 2010 that is not certified. The 2009 has 10200 miles while the 2010 has over 17000 miles and came off of lease. Equipment wise the only difference is the 2010 has the P30 performance package and the 2009 does not. The price is about the same for both cars. The question I have for this board is does the limited slip make that much of a difference. Does anyone know if it is possible to add the limited slip to the vehicle by the dealership or would it cost too much to do so. I am kind of leaning towards the 2009 due to mileage of the 2010 and 2010 is not certified.
If you think I should buy the 2010 please tell me why.

One other question I have is if I was to extend the warranty on the 2010 is it honored at any mercedes dealership.

I appreciate any help I can get from this board.

Get quaife lsd. At least 500 less than oem and better, from reviews in forums.

There are few things to consider about both cars. Here are the things I've spotted when changing from a 2009 C350 to a 2010 C63. I know it isn't exactly apples to apples, but these issues apply to all C's. There are a few other minor nuances about the 2009. If it has the Ipod cable, it won't charge your iphone without a adapter. It also will not display your music on your MM screen. The 2009 has larger mirrors, which IMHO, is much better in avoiding blind spots, but they do create more wind noise when driving at highway speeds compared to the 2010. You can install a better quaife lsd for less than what the dealership charges. The 2010 also comes with the P30 package, which includes the increased speed limiter, alcantra steering wheel, upgraded brakes and a few other items.

I know I haven't given you a definitive choice to choose from, but I hope it allows you to make your own choice. BTW...7k miles more miles shouldn't be a deal breaker. See if the dealer will be willing to either work with you more on the price or certify the 2010 for you. I don't see why they wouldn't to make the deal happen.

If you mod then I would say to get the 2009, but like mentioned above, the 2010 P30/P31 package is not just the LSD. Therefore, if you don't plan on keeping the car long term, then I would say the 2010 is better because it has less issues... plus warranty.

p.s. I guess I am slightly bias since I do own a 2010 .

If price remains the same, I believe it makes sense to buy the 2010. It has the P31 package which is valuable upon resale and it is one year newer. These two items will give you more $$ when you decide to depart from the car.
If you decide to get the 2009, you can buy a $300 box from MB that will make your ipod work the same way as the 2010.
I would either get the 2009 to be lower priced than the 2010 or get the 2010 certified for the extra warranty if you plan to keep the car for at least 5 years. If you change cars more often than that, than don't bother.
Even if you mod the car, it is always nicer to start with better internals (P31).
CONGRATS on your future purchase and welcome to the club
