Interesting, what about the tranny and the rest of the drive train? Would that hold with that much power? Isn't there a torque limit on the 7G tranny?
I am assuming ECU would have to be tuned as well.

I thought the thinking was that the car's existing fuel management system wouldn't cope with supercharger AND headers. Can someone explain this fir the benefit of those of us who are not greasemonkeys...please

The Weistec supercharger is being installed on my CLK63 Black Series right now, I'm flying out to pick it up on March 11th and I'm setting up a track rental a few days after that, you will have your results soon enough...stay tuned.

They claim they have the tuning and torque limits all figured out and tuning is included in their $15k price. I'm not sure what they are doing with mine since I have some "additional goodies" on my motor, Longtubes, no cats, run race fuel only and I don't care about CARB approval Smog or emmisions testing. I'm not sure if I'm going to get a "custom" tune or their "standard" tune, either way these guys know what they are doing, very very bright guys, I consider myself somewhat in the know about technical car stuff and these guys make me feel like a newb. I have 1000% confidence in them and thier SC system. I'll keep everyone posted.

I'm not sure about the system shown in the link on this thread but the Weistec system includes a high flow fuel rail system to address the fuel management issue.

I have not broken any records in a long time, Ahmad is still the man in that department and a couple C63 have bested my 63 NA times. I'm not going to even talk records until it happens, we all know that big HP on a dyno doesn't mean squat if you can't get it down the track. I have no idea what I'm getting into, it going to be like a new car, gobs more torque and HP, an entire new wheel and tire set up for the strip and a new suspension package for the strip. I'm going to have to learn how to drive it all over again so as much as I would love to roll it off the trailer and lay down a low 10 second pass the reality is my first several passes are most likely going to be slower than times I was running a year ago. If and when any records get broken I'll let you know, til then there are a handful of guys currently outgunning me...as I mentioned before, the nitrous has been removed from my car, too much risk until I get the new system worked out and/or find the breaking point of this trans and rear-end.
