Anyone know when they'll be for order? I wanted to get an M3 but the C63 AMG coupe just keeps telling me to come back. I love the way they've refreshed the car! The only thing I am waiting for is the interior quality. It didn't feel like a 70k car before the refresh, I wonder if it does now. Reports say that it has significantly improved.

2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe heads to Geneva

You see, the CLK was designed to slot in between the C-Class and E-Class sedan and wagon ranges, and was both preceded and succeeded by the E-Class Coupe. When Mercedes went back to the old formula, it made room for the vehicle you see here: the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
The subject of many spy shots and leaked photos, the new C-Class Coupe has finally been officially revealed by the factory ahead of its official debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. There, the new Benz coupe will arrive with two engine options: The Mercedes-Benz C250 coupe gets the 1.8-liter direct-injected turbo four with 201 horsepower, while the C350 coupe is equipped with the 304-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6. Both are mated exclusively to Merccedes' 7-speed automatic transmission, which drives the rear wheels. 4Matic all-wheel drive not offered on the C-Class coupe. (The AMG version of the coupe is tipped to come along in another month at the New York Auto Show.)
So what else separates the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe from the sedan it's based on? Two fewer doors and a slightly lower roofline. That's about it. The C-Class coupe's wheelbase is the same, the front end is the same, the luxury touches and the cutting-edge electronic wizzardry... it's all the C-Class we know, only coupier. Will that be enough to steal sales away from the likes of the BMW 3 Series coupe and Audi A5, both of which are more distinctly differentiated from their four-door compatriots? We'll find out once the two-doors hit showrooms.

I already have a C63. Even though I love this car it would be nice to try something else when my three year lease is up. I'd also like to get back into a coupe.
The C63 coupe would pretty much be what I'm already driving with a few interior tweaks and I don't care for the way it looks.

C63 AMG
So, if the C63 coupe does indeed come with the same engine as the sedan, will it be any lighter than the sedan? If so, will more 1/4 mile records get broken?

That manual transmission in the picture sure is exciting. I know its probably just for the low end models but offering it on an AMG would be amazing and would likely equal an immediate purchase from me and many others! Is there any chance we see a manual transmission on the C63 AMG Coupe???

On a positive note, I've heard nothing but raves for the new MCT 7 speed transmission.

From what I've seen so far, I really like it.

But in many examples (M3 coupe vs Sedan) the coupe's weight savings is negligible and makes no real difference in performance.
Although coupe's have 2 less doors, those 2 doors have to be reinforced with more metal for rigidity and support (in case of a collision).
I've looked at many examples over the years
G35 sedan vs G35 coupe
M3 sedan vs M3 coupe
In general the weight is almost the same (in the case of the M3 you save more weight w/ the CF roof) but the performance is pretty much identical. Perhaps a .1-.2 sec advantage IF that
