You guys are making me nervous. I just heard from my dealer that my options are going to be locked in within the next week or two. Maybe I better reconfirm what I have. The multi-media package on my order, I thought, contained the rear camera, which I definitely wanted. But I think it's a post June 2011 build. I guess these are the perils of ordering a new model early.

 

Glad I'm not the only nervous one - yes, the options keep changing and my build is going to be locked in the next 2 weeks.

Please let me know if you find anything out, I will do the same.

 

The reason for all this uncertainty is the japan disaster. All kinds of components are being delayed. This might be the reason for the problems with your setup. We don't have packages here. We get to choose each option individually. We can take command only, whereas you have the mm-package.

As for the color i wasn't fully satisfied so i phoned AMG in germany and talked to a guy. Sent him an email and asked about the matte color. Will keep you posted

 

Can i ask you what possessed you to let them use your car for that topgear episode? Did they pay you? I saw sparks fly from your undercarrige on that apex bump =/

 

Lucky! Matte black with red calipers sounds sick!

 

I didn't own the car at that time. I only purchased it a few months later. At a routine service they found a crack in the exhaust and swapped it out without charge. Wonder where that came from...

As for the matte color, i was actually thinking about going with a white one. There is not i think a single "real" matte black car here in Helsinki (that i know of), all have been vinyled. I haven't seen a single white matte car here either, which is what makes the matte white quite tempting. Obviously i love the color as well..

 

Alright, if anyone's interested, here's what i found out. Yes, you can get a matte color but it will cost you...a lot. What happens is that the car is fully produced with some color (for instance basic black). Then the car is shipped to amg or designo where they take the car apart and completely repaint it. Not worth it imo...

 

Hmm, that's wierd, I just got back from ordering a 2012 not even more than an hour ago. I didn't see that multimedia package II. Was it under packages or under options?? I knew the salesperson so she let me take a look at the screen and browse through the options. Also, I'm pretty sure the back up camera is part of the multimedia package. I remember seeing that, for anyone who was wondering.

 

They changed the options a few times in the past couple months since I placed my order.

Im buying my 2012 C63. I put a deposit down back at the beginning of march, and chose options mid-may when they became available for Canada.

Options are as follows:

The exterior colour is Obsidian Black Metallic
Black Leather Interior
Premium Package
Performance Package Plus

Pretty much fully-loaded!
-Then Ill get some tuning done...ECU etc.

The dealer said early September for delivery... Too FN long! jks, it will be worth it! the interior on the 2012 is way classier!

Ive waited to buy a car like this for so many years if feels like, for it to actually happen was so exciting! Ill post pictures and videos when it comes!

 

Why bother tuning if you have the PP + ?

 

It makes the car that much faster, louder, exciting, etc.... basically a killer towards all others (even other C63's). These cars are great especially with the pp+ but imagining you can still make them better! haha

 

Wtf? :/ A PP+ car has been shown to be as fast as a tuned C63. And i didn't know a tune can change the exhaust note...

 

Its called changing the exhaust...

 

I asked why bother tuning. I asked nothing about changing an exhaust. I asked why you would tune (change the ecu) with the performance package.

 

Think he plans on changing the exhaust and then retuning for that.

 

Here in the Philippines a brand new C63 is also about 160K USD
