Another iPod issue

My iPod won't shut off when the key is removed from the ignition. It is still "connected" on the iPod screen leading to a dead iPod battery in a matter of a day or two. I have it connected with the MB cable in the glove compartment. Haven't seen this particular issue in a search of iPod issues. I've tried both a 1st gen Nano and a 4th gen Nano with the same results. I think I also have the charging issue with the 4th gen Nano, but I ordered the Scoche Passport yesterday to fix that (hopefully). Anyway, why wouldn't the iPod shut off with the engine?? Maybe it's another cable issue and I need to get the newer one.

Thanks,

John

The Scoche passport wont fix it, you need to get the Mercedes converter to avoid your ipod going dead. Thats exactly what I had to do, and I called Scoche and they said they didnt do anything for the 2010 C63 models.

I have the Nano that precedes this recent one, and it charges perfectly with the MB Converter

Its a piece that snaps on between the cable and the Ipod.

I ordered the adapter and received a new cable. Thought I was going to receive something that went between the existing cable and the Ipod. The cable I received is only about a foot long so it must plug in close to the existing hole in the glove box where the existing OEM cable is. It definitely isn't long enough to reach the head unit. I assume this is an easy task, but thought I'd see if anyone has replaced their iPod cable.

Thanks

You may have received the UCI interface cable from a 2010+. If so, it won't work in your 2009. I can take some pics in a few minutes of the adapter, and also the UCI cable since I'm retrofitting that into my vehicle which will remove the 2009 iPod integration kit which just has a iPod cable coming out of the right hand side of the glove box through a small grommet.

Thanks, looks like they sent the UCI cables in error as that is exactly what I received. Even though I confirmed with them when ordering and today at pick up that I had an 09 and they said ok.

Thanks for posting the pics! I will print out for their reference.

No. All you need is what's in the first picture. I'm retrofitting the UCI into my 2009 and provided the pictures to confirm JCH received the wrong cable from his dealer.

Yeah. Then I can add the Media Interface Plus to the car as well, in addition to possibly enabling traffic for navigation.
