It sounds like we have initial consensus for at least a handful of us that Markham Park in West Fort Lauderdale will work - should we aim towards that? Perhaps reach a consensus on a date for an upcoming Saturday and move forward from there?

Even though I'm not an AMG owner, I would be down for Markham Park most Saturdays. I would just have to figure out what car to bring, lol, my C230(at least a Mercedes) or G35(somewhat sporty)? Both are so sad next to an AMG

Anyone have any suggestions about the best way to move forward from here? Maybe start a new thread in either the 'Events & Gatherings' or 'Florida' forums on which we could keep a running RSVP list? Start a thread on the other AMG forums that points to the main RSVP thread?

Here's a link to the facilities information at Markham Park:
http://www.sunrisefl.gov/2facilityr_Picnicp.html

Small pavilion (accommodates 20-30 people) with 1 gas grill will run ~$50.

30th sounds good to me. I like emericr's idea about a BBQ. We're also going to need a good photographer or at least a normal photographer with a good camera, lol!

Although there is nothing wrong with a small meet. By having it on the 30th is not going to give enough people time to get the word out for something decent size. I am not saying people wont show up, it just wont be as big as I was thinking.... These need to be planned far more in advance for a larger turn out. But that being said, it can still be a fun meet if even 10 cars showed up...

You have a good point about leaving people time to see this. It should be posted in both spots as few people look at the events section. We could keep this thread open with a link to the event section.
We should push the event date at least 30 days to leave more time for people to join.
Great idea about a good photographer. We need one fan who has some skills
I am in for a BBQ.

I agree about the date. We should let more people see this. We should also start a list here of the people who are going, that way we have a better idea.

Same here - pretty much any Saturday is okay for me.

This works for me. Thoughts on doing it a couple weeks prior, perhaps May 21st? This is the weekend before Memorial Day weekend.

Just bumping this back to page 1 on the forum.

Does Saturday May 14th work for you guys? If we can get a preliminary idea here on this thread I'll go ahead and create a new one on the Events & Gatherings forum.
