Was at the showroom today and they have this Matte Black Coupe. I'm not into coupes and this type of matte finish specially after seeing one. I wonder how the paint wears out and does it tolerate scratches much better?



A Silver Matte Edition One Sedan was also there and it looks much better to me.

I think this type of paint would go well if you get a BS.

@izzyAMG The dealer told me that its quite a lot of work to keep the matte finish. Has to be cleaned even if theres bug splatter and such by special cleaners etc. ( obviously can't wax it for protection) and also that with the chemicals they put on the road up here in the winter its a nightmare. It's probably a good paint scheme if you live some place where the weather is more " cooperative" and like that style of finish. I agree with you that its nothing special on the car. I personally like when you get a car so shiny it looks like a mirror ...not going to happen with a matte finish.

Can someone clear up if the brake lamps on the 2012's are LED or not? I see to halogen lights on the lower part of the taillights(The red part under the turn signals) that is clearly visible. The top part of the taillights is LED though(The red part above the turn signals.)

I just got home in my new white on black coupe. This is my first mb and so far I am in love with it. I had an m3 a few years ago and have an s4 as a second car. I don't think I'll be driving the Audi to much anymore. Can't wait to break her in to really see what it has.

Thanks guys. I did notice tonight that the car was smoking pretty bad right after I started it. It was also throwing a lot of black smoke while revving it. Has anyone else noticed this. It only has 150 miles on her.

Just don't care for the proportions or the front. It's not awful though.
