Anyone try Wavetrac LSD?
Was thinking of going the Quaife route, and ran into this.
Pricing again is similar to OEM LSD and the Quaife LSD.
But the Wavetrac seems to offer something no else does.

Would love to get some feedback before i jump the gun on a LSD.

If you are not a serious road racer, or have any plans on tracking your car hard. The advantage of zero slip is meaningless on the street.
Where it would help GREATLY, is on a road course, with a heavy car, running VERY stiff springs, bigger sway bars, and R type tires.
Under the above conditions, it is quite common to lift a inside wheel when exiting a corner. Providing that the chassis is stiff enough. And this my friend WILL cause a loss of traction with the above named posi's. Over time, it has been proven at the tracks to damage them as well.
Ask me how I know

I have the Wavetrac - I was the guinea pig for my local dealer. I think it is great and have had no problems at all with it. It is a huge HUGE improvement over the open diff, but I don't have enough time in with OEM LSD cars to compare the two.
I have 18,000 miles on my car and almost that many on the diff, and have tracked my car a couple of times with absolutely no problems.

Wavetrac
Hi all,
We'll be installing mine in my SL55 this week. I did a lot of reading about the product and it's engineered by the same people at Quaife. Who knows how much you read is true but according to the specs it should be a great choice. I'm stomping at the the bit to test drive her once she is done. I'll give you my opinion if it's worth anything here! I had driven a car with a Quaife and it was awesome how much control you have with the back-end of the car. You take off the traction control and the LSD keeps the back in line without the computer kicking in which slows you down. I chose the Wavetrac for the features it offers, not that I'll truly see the difference with my driving, but I guess knowing it's there helps with your confidence if you decide to truly use it for what it does.
My .02!!
