turned out to be a PITA due to the command knob wiring pretty much disintegrating, after some work on that everything is up and running again. Adds a nice touch, not the same leather as the seats but better than the horrible trash can plastic of the stock one. Sliding cover is nice too.

don't mind the shiny seats was on step 2 of leather cleaning and conditioning waiting for the Leather Vital to dry.

I installed mine yesterday. The cable is tricky the first time, but you must remove the carpet on the drivers side of the console and reach under the console and release the cable from the wire retaining clip with your thumb. I used a small telescoping mirror to follow the ribbon cable until I saw the clip/retainer it was caught on. Hopefully people go easy with the removal because it's very easy to screw up that switch wiring. Everything else is pretty easy. I'd say the rear air vents were the second most difficult.

yeah the rear air vent....well the first time I pulled it out it was fine. The second time after I realized the command knob wasn't working was a different story. The thing pretty much exploded.

Great Mod! One of my favorites and such a night and day difference in look and feel when you go back.

This is the console in Australian delivered cars. Is it just the leather covering that's different

There are two differences between the US and Euro console top.

1. Sliding cover.
2. Stitched "leather" covering on armrest.
3. Concealed cup holders / compartment.

On the US Spec C63, the cup holders are big to hold our super sized drinks we love, along with our other crap which shouldn't be in a cup holder but is. The arm rest also isn't stitched, though the feel is similar to the euro console.

the Aussie cars look to get the same "euro" console. The US spec console is pretty different. 2 huge round cup holders, no sliding cover, horrible plastic finish.

as for cost I bought it from a member here but someone put this all together on his own time as some sort of group buy I believe and shipped them state side. It looked like a few parts were needed as it wasn't a kit, the armrest, sliding cover thing, and trim piece that goes over the command controls. I also bought the snap in cup holding thing from getmbparts.com. I'm very happy with the way this turned out as my old armrest was the cause of some squeaks and rattles.
