Torco Accelerator - who's using?

Hi,

Sending my ECU very soon for a tune (MHP). The performance difference between the 91 and 93 octane maps is huge (20HP) so I decided to go with the 93 map. I have 94 octane 2 minutes from where I work so that's great, still 93/94 is not available everywhere.

Andy fromk MHP suggested Torco Accelerator to boost the octane just in case and mentionned this is the only one that works.

Who has been using their concentrated race fuel formula here?

thanks in advance

I have been thinking about getting this stuff in because the Vette guys around here swear by it. I have heard lots of good things about it but I am still on the fence about carrying it. If people show a lot of interest in it I will certainly put it in my store.

Id be interested in this if it really works...

Figure $42 for 64 ounces.

Mix chart for for 93 to 104 Octane is 64 ounces for 20 gallons. Our tanks are 17 so figure you will need 2 for a full tank.

$121 for a tank full of 104 Octane or....

$225 for 15 gals of VP109.

$185 for full tank of pump 100 Octane....

If you start to carry this Craig let me know.

I will. We have been considering carrying a few different fuels too but I am waiting to see what the cost of unleaded at the pump is going to be this year once everyone gets there new deliveries. In order for me to sell it out of the drum I would need to charge $15.00/gallon to make it worth my while. That would be for 103 octane that is oxygenated so it would be quite a bit different than what you will find in the pump plus it will be a lot fresher out of the drum but I am trying to figure out if it is worth it.

Yeah, 100 octane at the pump was $10/gallon. But that was before the price hike. Well see where the prices go. If this stuff works that well and doesnt damage anything it sure will save some money for the weekend racer.

As for the track though, what about getting VP109? Ever consider carrying that stuff? Not sure if there is much room to save people money from the regular suppliers plus make a profit.

Nah, I won't carry MS109, S/K Speed already carries that stuff and they do a good job with it so there's no reason to step on there toes. There are other oxygenated options that are probably more ideal for these German cars so I would probably carry a fuel that is more geared towards that.

Is that thumbs up for MHP or Torco? he he

Let us know how it's going. I'll use it perhaps 10 times per summer, when I'm at the track and can't find 93+ in the area. thx

E-85 tune is the way to go. It will get you very poor gas mileage but it will cost you much much less so the real benefit would be the great power that you could get out of a M156 engine(I estimate about extra 50hp-60hp and extra 40-50 lb-tq extra torque).

The E-85 equals to about 105 oct and allows you to tune very agressively. The initial cost would be the bigger injectors and bigger fuel pump but once that is out of the way the performance gains are enormous.
