I changed my reverse bulbs also on my other car, but let me tell you it looks cool for sure when people watch you pull out, but it barley emits any light! you cant see jack **** when backing up! I might just change them back to halogen.

I'm gonna skip that mod on the benz

i'm gonna try replacing the 5 5050 LED bulb for a 68 3528 LED Bulb, which are supposedly much brighter... I hope it helps, cuz i really do like how it looks vs the halogen.

My windows are tinted so it all looks the same to me. I ordered some from ijdmtoy.com but I'm sure AZNOptics on here sells them too.

Not sure why the photo links were broken, but they're fixed now. If this happens again, the photos are in my garage and labeled by step #.

Quote: Alright folks,

Thanks to some good ole' fashioned elbow grease, I figured it out. Most of this can be done with your bare hands but you will need a 9mm socket wrench to make life easier.

Step 1: Disconnect the battery. I'd suggest wearing gloves, but with the car off you should be okay without. There's one bolt you need to loosen before you pull the cable off.

Step 2: Pull out the trunk lining. There are 3 items you need to remove. 2 are the little push pins that you can remove with your fingernails. There's a center pin that feeds and locks the outer pin. I found that it was easiest to remove the center pin then the outer pin. You also need to remove the grocery hook. No trick, just pull straight out. A flat screwdriver might help here.

Step 3: There is only one bolt in the top left that you really need to remove. If you do step 2 and pull back the lining, you'll see it easily. When you remove this bolt, you can tilt the whole module forward (by forward I mean toward your left, away from the right side of the car). There is a brace on the bottom that the module appears to be attached to...you just need to tilt it far enough and you can slide it out of the bracket.

Step 4: Once step 3 is done, you can easily access everything. There are two black snap locks that secure the SAM. Press those simultaneously and shimmy out the SAM.

Step 5: There's one connector that you can squeeze to remove, but there are 3 more that you can't. Just look at the picture and press where the red arrow points, then pull the grey tab where the blue arrow is and the connector should easily pop out. Everything is color coded so you won't have to remember where it connects.

Best of luck to you, gents. I'll be mailing my SAM out to whipple today for overnight delivery and should get it back by Thursday.

I'm not sure, but I purchased these exact part numbers I've referenced in this thread and had my SAM reprogrammed successfully.

Quote: so with the fogs on its not too annoying to people following? If not then its not an issue to me just to keep them on all the time.
In my case, the left fog light was on anytime the headlights were on. But the right tail light was throwing an error code.

I ordered using the part # from page 10 or something of this thread. I got an email saying the part # had actually changed and the new price was significantly higher (which only ended up being a $10 difference...not very "significant" IMO), but they just adjusted the price of the shipping to make the total the same. both lights came and were exactly what I ordered. I should be getting my SAM back today so I should finally be done with this whole ordeal once I install it back in my car.

Hmm, that's very strange. What MY is your car? There was a "group buy" some months ago and I think he reprogrammed quite a few C-Classes of different varieties (C300, C350, C63).

Hi Guys,

Sorry I missed this thread for a while.

I have figured out the coding in early last year, but unfortunately has no

chance to visit US until now,

As promised, I would like to return the kindness to those people whose provided

help to me (show me how to install the tail lamp..)

I will be in SFO @ 03/23 (Sat) and will stay in Atlanta in week of 03/25 / , 04/01

if you guys are there, please PM me your contact, I will do the progamming for you, of course FREE. ( might be a soft drink? )

one note:

The magic can only apply to MY 2009 and MY 2008 W204, the reason is
Mercedes switched DAS to Xentry in MY 2010 cars, therefore DAS can no longer control low level actuation. for MY 2010 / 2011 models can only be done by SCN, which is control by Mercedes.

wish you guys have a nice weekend.

I'm one of the unlucky guys with a 2011 C63. Dealer will not recode the SAM for the upgraded taillights. Do I have any other options other thank saving my money?
