dull bumper

Hello - I have a '10 with under 10k kms in obsidian black ... my rear bumper is starting to look dull / rough even after washing, anyone else experincing this?
Rest of the paint is mint like day 1.

I'm hoping its just a simple matter of exhaust fumes and claybar will fix it, but just reaching out for some feedback.

thx.

Welcome to the hell of owning a black car lol

Do yourself a favor and buy an orbital buffer and some good products and learn to buff it yourself. That was the best thing I ever did.

Depends. I wouldn't jump right into a buffer. If the problem is the clearcoat coming off, then you may need to take it recoated. If it's just dirty and rough, then claybar, polisher, wax, then sealant with a random orbital buffer (recommend the porter cable 7424). Take some pics and show us!

Ya ... I was just wondering if its a common thing for c63 due to exhaust or what not ...

I have all the tools of the trade and I guess my weekend will be busy - this is my 3rd black car and promised myself white would be the next color ... so much for that ... ha

This is your friend to clean/seal the rear bumper and keep it looking great: http://www.autogeek.net/klasalpolsea2.html

One of the best products I have ever used by a long shot

it's most likely all the crap that gets kicked up from the rear wheel/exhaust..
my rear bumper is always dirty.

had the same issue - detailer was perplexed when he saw it, but at the end of day, got it off easily with clay

get a porter cable 7424 and you dont have to worry about burning through the paint. It does an excellent job, but is not powerful enough to fk up the paint
