Looks fairly similar to a wood grain door molding clip on a W220 S-class. Might want to give it a try.

Do you know where to find a replacement or is the dealership the only way? cannot find anything other than CF.

As a last resort, you can purchase the engine cover from the dealership. But I would first look on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...cover&_sacat=0

use some dielectric grease on your clips.

All you have to do is use either needle nose pliers or regular pliers to give them a little squeeze to tighten them up, so they clip on better and that’s it. 😁

So those appear to be available on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Mer...-/291943666570

I found the same part at: https://www.eeuroparts.com. for less...

I am going to order some and see if they fit...

Absolutely they will work, I bet my life on it. As they are the exact same ones, I purchased from Mercedes until I found them cheaper online.

Good because I just got a reply from the ebay seller and he/she is charging $8 + for each clips that's ridicilous , amazon are like 65 cents a piece, I'm ordering right now , it's free return on prime anyway if they didn't fit. thanks for the info.

and if my memory serves me correctly the dealership charged me like $3 for just one. So I have a few extra if I every need them. $8 for just one is ridiculous, as these clips probably costs $ .02 to make. 🤔

Just noticed that I am missing the front engine cover clip on my W166 ML63. Has anyone had these clips fall off themselves due to heat cycles? Reason I ask is because I am the only one that services my car at the moment and the last time I took my cover off I had all the clips in tact. The front clip was loose though, but I used pliers to secure it a bit more to the peg. My thought is that it must have fell through the fastening point while I put load on the engine or something of that sort.

I did look around in the engine for signs of it but don't seem to see anything. I found the part on FCP euro and ordered it along with some other items that I needed. I am a bit annoyed, however, because I can't help to think its laying somewhere on my engine or on the underside shielding. I guess I'll find out in 4,800 miles when I change my oil again.
