Modding - 1st Steps

Ok, getting bit by the mod bug here, and looking to add some more grunt.

Not looking to go overboard, but would like to improve sound, and seat of the pants.

What do recommend for someone just getting started? I love many of the header and exhaust setups I've seen around here. But is starting off with exhaust and adding a tune down the road a good way to go about it?

Just not sure which tune I want to go with yet, and there's a good chance I won't keep this car too long as I'll be grabbing a 2012 by next year. But in the meantime would like to improve the sound and grunt a bit.

Thanks.

2012 is just around the corner. Make sure you get something that can be easily transfered to your new 2012, like a Akrapovic exhaust. Not sure if the ecu can be swapped over.

MHP Long tube headers and a tune. A setup that is proven to work!

Just remove your secondary cats. It's really cheap and the sound improvement is massive.

Take your car to the track and learn to drive it at its current limits.

And that's going to improve the sound how?

Its called a suggestion there guy. I don't think a thread is needed for such a commonly answered question that really shouldn't have to be asked in the first place. There is a search button for a reason.

Mustang forums slow today or what?

He asked what can improve the sound of his car. He didn't ask where to learn how to drive his car. To boot, you're trying to justify your answer by saying he shouldn't have made this thread in the first place? Genius.

Sorry, didn't know one couldn't own multiple cars. I'll stick to the mustang forum.

edit: not trying to start an argument

If you want more sound delete your resonators and 2ndary cats. I would highly recommended getting a tune as a first mod.
