dinged rear wheel (Arggghh)!/First oil change?
Terrible weekend. I dinged my RR wheel over the weekend. I failed to negotiate a curb (end spot) in a parking lot. Damage is a small curb rash about a half inch in length/width. What terrible way to break-in a new car. At the end of the day, not too bad. I actually handled it pretty well...
Question: Would you all get this curb rash repaired or would you leave as is? If I choose not to get it repaired, what would/could happen to the wheel. Oxidation/rust issues? What would this cost me to repair? Any home remedy/cheap alternatives to repair and/or to minimize the onslaught of rust or the wheel breaking down due to oxidation or rust???
Sidebar: It's tough to keep this thing under 4500 rpms for the first 1k miles. How many of you have changed the oil after the 1k mile mark?

No need to change the oil after the 1K mark. Im sure some will disagree showing pics of shaved metal.

I changed mine at 1k mark. SA gave me an 8oz. jar for analysis if I wanted. Had almost no shimmer. Which means barely any particles. I have yet to send it to a lab. I also dinged my FR wheel parking near a concave curb. Misjudged, but was only going maybe 1-2mph. Left about a .50x.25 in. rash. No one knows except me lol.

If your curb rash is not noticeable, just leave it... our wheels are made from aluminum alloy i think, so it shouldn't rust.
I also flushed my oil at 1 000km, but I doubt it's a necessity.

Take your car back to the dealer, and have them repair it. The car doesn't need to have it's oil changed after 1K, but if your that concerned about it, then yes you should have it changed.
