I wanted red-black as well but these cars are hard as hell to sell in finland and a daring color combo doesn't help...Besides my wife hated it

 

Ok, so it took about 6 weeks. My build date is Oct 26th, a fixed date and not a 3rd decade type date. Going by that mine should arrive around Dec 7th if all goes well.

My dealer had mentioned something like since it is an Edition 1 it gets top priority but I don't know if that really means anything.

Yeah, 6 weeks is what my dealer estimated and he was right on the money.

Work has been really busy lately so the weeks are flying by. The nice thing about the later build date is we get our end of fiscal year bonuses paid in Mid Nov, I should just have then send it straight to the dealer. lol

This car is already built and on a boat on the way over here. I didn't purchase it, but was advised it was going to be here soon. I was sent all the option info from my dealer. I believe all of the Edition 1 cars are already built and being distributed. I noticed you said yours was Magnetite black which isn't the matte black. The Edition1 comes only one way with aluminum trim, and red stitched seats.

Invoice is a little hard to read.

 

My initial order was for magnetite black but I switched last month when my dealer got an edition 11coupe allocation.

My 2012 is at the dealership, I will see her later today.. I think I will walk away after choy told me about NRA and I will be able to get 400 over invoice and I want the amg pkg too now.. Will post some pics later..

I may pick it up if dealer willing to give me 500-1000 over invoice, but doubt that since he wouldn't budge from msrp when I ordered

Just got my production slot for early Jan 2012.

Funny thing is that I wanted the multimedia package, listed at $2790 on mbusa.com, but when my dealer entered the order we found out that MB apparently dropped the rearview camera into a separate $460 option, and lowered the cost of the rest of the package to about $1300.

Just to make sure I asked the dealer to do some research and he said the new multimedia package had everything the old package had except for the rearview camera. Anyone else experienced this?

 

The old multimedia package had a six disk changer but there were supply issues after the Tsunami/Earthquake in Japan. They removed that option and changed it to the Command Launch package with a single disk and seperate rearview camera. It is likely the option your dealer added was for a single disk unit.

 

Ordered today in Canada. Production date is Jan 18, 2012

Similarly equipped car in the US is almost $6K more.

So this probably goes without saying but fck i love my car! The MCT gives a little exhaust "puff" sound in every high rpm shift. The car is a real head turner. A taxi stopped and stared :P
If anyone is deliberating on whether or not to order the 2012, just go with it if you have the chance. It's awesome.

I couldn't help myself last night when an older Saleen mustang started tailgating me, trying to taunt me into a little race.
At the red light I switched to M and ESP sport and gave him a little taste.

I don't think he was expecting my car to sound like such a monster.

I can confirm the sounds are completely intoxicating.
