It's not just a new hood -
Desperately needed new interior, facelift, new power steering setup, new transmission, updated suspension.
By official release I mean when pricing is available, which is not out yet, at least for the US dealers.
They are not hyping it up - they don't even know about any of the changes in 2012, as usual they are mostly clueless.

Thanks Jycke and enochroot.. That is good advice.. I think I am going to stick with the C63.. I just had a moment, however now my dealer called me today and said they can not get me my black and red two tone seats.. I am so over this. I mean he is a friend of mine so he is really fighting the factory on this as we speak, but it's like MB is changing everything that I ordered.. hopefully after all these changes they will at least include a steering wheel with my order so I can drive the car.. ha-ha.

Get over it and yourself. Its a spiced up C63 and its being released midcycle. Obviously you have looked at the car a 1000 times a day. Does it really look that INSANELY different? I mean really, does it? No it DOESN'T. Desperately needed new interior??? Speak for yourself. The interior is indeed nice but many people don't agree with its every aspect. The intergrated screen is so Acura IMO. Some of the accents look Japanese and it has lost that German look to it, again, IMO. So the hype is obviously for marketing purposes. A lot of people are not rushing to get this "facelift" because they like what the 08-2011 looks like as it is.
Enjoy your new facelift but dont make it the end all be all...

The prices I am going off of are pretty much set from the dealer price guide. However I am sure they can knock off a few hundred here and there on some options. My dealer did it for me in regards to the keyless go and multimedia pack. Happy shopping !!

Neither would I but that doesn't stop some dealers around here from trying. When the E93 M3 came out some dealers were charging $10k above sticker.

I think Jycke was quoted something like 170k for the car, we complain about taxes in the US but we have no idea what high taxes are really like elsewhere.
Why would these be over MSRP? they wont - it's not like a black series car.
I expect to pay somewhere in between MSRP and few thousand over invoice.

At a quick glance it looks like your standard black. On closer inspection, you will see it is actually a very dark grey, with metallic flakes speckled throughout. I've only seen it on an S class, but it is a cool color. Try google images for examples.

I just spoke to my dealer and he gave me some more info on why the C63 coupe in particular is held up for the US. He said it still needs to go through federal emissions testing and certification and the allocation dates are being held back till it gets those. It is the same engine as 2011 the transmission has changed and in the case of the coupe it is a new model on top of that.

Like Wolvesq said, Magnetite Black is a metallic charcoal grey when you catch it in the light. I've not seen it on a car but have seen the paint sample at the dealer and it looked good both under indoor lighting and outside in the sun.
