Smile how does the new coupe drives vs 2010 C63 sedan?

Hey folks,

How is the MCT really?
Does it weights more?
How does the coupe handling compare with sedan?

I know MCT doesn't shift as fast as PDK, MDCT, etc. How is it?
I really dislike the 7G on the previous C63.

Thanks

Do you feel the shift more with the MCT--firmer shift, compared with the 7g?

Does the MCT have different shift speeds between Sport and Manual? (Not sure, there may be more than one Sport mode). So, if there is more than one Sport mode, is Manual still the fastest, like with the 7g?

Appreciate any feedback.

The MCT lacks a torque converter and has a wet start up clutch instead, which makes it more responsive, shifts much quicker and looses no torque. No matter whether it's in auto or manual mode, shifts occur quicker than in the 7G. The interruption of traction is shorter in the MCT compared to the 7G, which makes the quicker shift speed possible.

There are c, s, s+, and and m. I drive around mostly in s+ and driving around town it can be pretty rough from a dead stop. But after it gets past first gear or you get moving that thing shifts a lot smoother and faster than the 7g. No lag at all. I don't drive much at all in the m mode but I can tell you there is no delay like the 7g. I really wish they came in manual. Oh well I'm still happy.

Thanks for the response. Your description helped me understand why wet start up clutches shift faster than converters.

Thank you as well. Can you feel a big difference in programming from S to S+? Also, When you get back in the 7g does it feel dated? For me, I like the 7g, but I can feel the lag in shifts, definitely. It's great to feel the torque from the M156 but there is always a little bit missing from the shift speed.

I still think a used CLK63 Black Series is a better buy. Built for the track.

I wouldn't say there is a big difference, but I can feel a difference between the two. Driving around normally, the s+ shifts at a higher rpm and when mashing on the throttle, the shift is faster and more direct. This makes me wonder if the ecu adapts like the c63 ecu or it's not that adaptable since there are s and s+. Meaning if I drive slow all the time, does it means I have to do a few hot laps before the shift is faster or is it at maximum quick shifts already.

There are two great clips on the last page of the C63 coupe thread...just listen and you can see how much faster it is.
