Same size as the lug bolts equipped on the car which the dealer gave me the specs of 14MX1.5X21 pulled out of the parts system. The dealer measured it and the regular silver coated lug bolt with a caliper tool, their ball seats are both 25mm diameter.

R12 12mm radius = 24mm diameter
R13 13mm radius = 26mm diameter
R14 14mm radius = 28mm diameter

Are you really sure it's really R14 ball seat?!

I'm more confused now..........

can anyone confirm if the wheel bolts for the Affaltarbach edition C63 are different then what the normal C63 are?

I have the affaltarbach edition with the black bolts on the multispoke black wheels but im wanting to put in 10mm and 15mm spacers on the car and am needing new bolts.

Should i be ordering a different length for the Special edition wheels??

I think they should be the same. You can always remove and measure it. It should be 27mm from the threaded tip to the start of the ball seat. I have hollow head black bolts off of my 2012 and they are the same as regular OEM lug bolts.

The black ones I have are no different in shaft length or ball seat. Both R14 as far as I can tell but that has been contested as well. Sorry no part numbers for the black lugs.

So are you guys buying R13 or R14 lug bolts? Anyone else verifying by visually checking a bolt after xxx miles? Better do it if you're haven't done so.

To help address the uncertainty of the correct Ball Seat Size for OEM Wheel Bolts, I recently visited Mackin Industries (one of the largest distributors of Volk Racing, Rays, and Kyo-Ei wheel bolts), where they had a tool that could measure the Ball Seat size with precision - a simple metallic cut out with the appropriate sizes. I don't believe the previously mentioned caliper tool can accurately measure the correct Ball Seat size, as the sphere may be cut at any height (hence altering the perceived radius), and still maintain its particular curvature/Ball seat size.

After measuring, my conclusion is that our OEM MB Wheel Bolts are indeed 14R in Ball Seat Size.

Below are 2 photos of the measurements (apologies for the photos, should have used a different background than a black chair to show the gaps along the curvatures)

Bolt used is the OEM one (stamped with 3 Point Star) off my FL C63 with 19" Black Multi-spoke (Turbine style) wheels.

First photo below depicts fitment of said bolt into a 13R Ball Seat. Notice the gaps circled in red:

Second Photo below depicts same bolt, now fitted into the 14R seat size. Notice how flush the fitment is.

I found it odd that there is no actual documentation for the various wheel bolt sizes used by MB, especially for such a critical fastener. Kyo-Ei, the Japanese aftermarket manufacturer of well regarded wheel hardware has a catalogue of sizes used by MB, I've included a copy of their updated sizing catalogue, showing the row labeled C with Japanese characters and Dates '07~ that it is 14R.

Using the correct Ball Seat Size is absolutely CRITICAL to the integrity and distribution of the clamping force of the wheel/bolt interface.
Hope this helps clear up some of the confusion!

^ Good stuff MBNRG, thx for posting your findings. Mackin's lug bolts are sold under the "Mevius" brand:

My advice is not to buy unbranded eBay lug bolts to save a few $$.

Anyone ever seen a source for one of those ball size radius tools? Simple cut out, I guess but not that easy to make.
