What are current expected dealer discounts on new C63 AMG?
I was shopping them back in the 08 timeframe, when the dealers were very deeply discounting them. I ended up going with an RS4 instead, which I enjoyed, but now considering a C63. Back then, the dealers had huge trunk money from MB on the C63s. My guess is not as much the case now, but certainly still some room there. Just trying to get a sense so that I dont walk into the dealer and pay MSRP like a fool, unless I have to...
thanks!

I've gotten my dealer to agree to 10% off MSRP. And yes its in writing, just need to finalize what I want and place the order after I get back from the desert.
It's probably because I bought (leased) an ML450 from him and bought a 2009 c63. Who knows, but I did have other dealerships decline to give anything off.

In my conversations with my three local dealers, they are all asking for MSRP on the first batches of 2012 C63 coupes. They all also say they will "do what it takes" to get my business, but for now they are holding the line. They might be more flexible on the sedans.
The risk of a promise of, say "10% off MSRP", which is essentially all of their profit if not more, is that "your" car won't ever show up, because it's going to someone who will pay MSRP. You will have to wait so long that everyone else will be getting that off too. Or else perhaps they intend to make it up in some other way, e.g., by paying you too little on a trade-in, or charging exorbitant lease fees and interest, etc.
For the first batch of 2012 cars, especially the coupes, I think people should expect to pay MSRP, or perhaps a token amount off MSRP.
Cheers.

I work for Autonation, here's our pricing guidelines before any rebates:
2011 - C-CLASS INVOICE -1100$
3.0L LUXURY INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN 4MATIC INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN RWD INVOICE -1100$
3.0L SPORT INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN 4MATIC INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN RWD INVOICE -1100$
3.5L SPORT INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN RWD INVOICE -1100$
6.3L AMG INVOICE -1100$
4DR SDN RWD INVOICE -1100$
This is in FL however. Texas shows Invoice accross the board which is probably not updated properly

thanks Howie.
I was reading a few threads down that several people said they got $9k off MSRP. That must have been for 2011 models.
Not interested in the coupe... just sedan.
Other thing I could get my head around is a very lightly used model from someone on this board or other private source where I could speak with the seller and feel good about the cars condition, how it was driven, maintained, etc. But would have to be very low miles, like less than 10k. New is probably the best route for me.

I can promise you that had to be for the 2011 models. Even then most of the trunk money is gone so that might even be a stretch. If I remember correctly, those types of amounts were on 2010 models when the economy was still pretty rough.
No way they would be giving that right out of the box on a 2012. That would be loco.

Well, last year I got $15k off of sticker on my 2010 C63, if that is any indication.

I agree, it's going to be a while. I'm first on the order list at my dealer but there is still no estimated build date last time I talked to him. He had mentioned some delays due to government certification of Coupe since it is technically a new model. it may apply to the Sedan too because the change in transmission might need new EPA certification.

I bought my 2012 C63 Coupe last week here in Kentucky. I managed to negotiate $4k off the MSRP. My build is Sept 11, expecting delivery mid Oct but I won't be surprised if it goes into Nov.
Hope that helps.

Looks like they're building Aug and Sep...but there hasn't been any news since that release.

I shopped around a bit before I bought. Checked out about 15 dealers. I ran into quite a few dealers that would only sell at MSRP. But there were a handful that were willing to move on the price.
3 of the dealers told me that they have about a 7% margin on the new C63s. Not sure how accurate that is, but I heard it from multiple sources. At the very least, it gives you a starting point for negotiations.

i hear around 7% as well. but dont forget IF a car sits and they start paying floor plan then they are losing money so they need to move it at that point. thats what happened to mine plus trunk money = great deal.... but in 09 not in 2012.

I call bull**** on all of this. My dad owns the sls, cls amg, and an s class. They will not give deals off the mrsp on the first c63 2012. Maybe next yr but not thus year. Unless there just complete dicks in Alberta. Best of luck to you all

Yeah but you are forgetting you are in Alberta. There is probably only a dealership in what, Calgary and Edmonton? So why would the dealers compete (drop prices) if they know that they don't have any real competition? If you want to drive a Benz in Alberta I would assume you have to pay MSRP!
Enjoy your C63.

MB margins are usually around 12% here in FL
