It is Hot.. rediculously hot.. how hot is your engine running in the heat..
I also drained it out the oil pan this time since I switched from 5w40 to 0w40 (which I had switched from the previous oil change because that was the only oil available when I went in).
Side issue, when I check my oil (waiting for about 5 min after I turned the engine off), the oil is just below the high mark.. when I pull the dipstick out while the engine is running... it is bone dry... that also has me a little worried, and I though I may not have enough oil in (about 9 or so quarts is what I put back in). I have never had this issue with any other car (I could check the oil while the engine was running).. but then I have never owned a high perf car before this one.
My engine oil temp hovers from 215-221 F at speed in this weather, a few degrees higher than what I typically see in cooler weather. But if I get on it at all, the temp will quickly climb to the 230-240 F area.
Whats your water temp like?
You should always check oil when an engine is cold before start up. That way you have a true reading of what is in the oil pan. Next time the oil is changed ( I dont use the dealer) ask them to show you the full mark BEFORE they start it.

I change my own oil, brake fluid, pretty much everything that does not require specialized equipment.
the level is correct, just below the high mark after letting the car sit for about 10 minutes after running the car. however, I was a little disturbed by the temp while running, and decided to check the oil quickly while the engine was on. obviously that was a mistake.
