How to remove ECU?
Can't seem to find a thread with how to remove the ECU. There's a youtube link on here, but that link is dead.
Help would be appreciated, thanks

1. Disconnect battery, be sure to leave trunk open till ecu back in and battery reconnected.
2. Disconnect the cover by removing the clips. The ecu looks like a 8 track tape, it's held in "snap in" type mounts. Disconnect the wiring first, then it should snap out. I can't recall if you need to disconnect any screws, but should be obvious.

It's easy...just be careful when you disconnect that you don't bend any pins.

I've removed and reinstalled my ECU countless times without ever disconnecting the battery. Do I have anything to worry about? Has this caused any undetectable harm?
Sorry, just paranoid when it comes to my car.

I've never disconnected the battery either. Corey @ Kleemann says it's alright. Just don't stick the key and turn the ignition if your ECU is out and the battery is connected. At least that is what he told me.

If you close the trunk after disconnecting the battery you will not be able to open the trunk again using the key fob. You will still be able to open it but will have to use the valet key. So you can close it if you figure that out before you do.
