Lightweight Battery Solution
Just wanted to share a solution I came up with to keep my lightweight battery from sliding around. I've had the battery sitting in my garage for almost a year, but held off on installing it because there was no elegant way of securing it. So being bored one afternoon I decided to come up with my own solution. I just drew up the design in CAD and sent it off to a shop with a water jet cutting machine, and I'm happy with the results!
It's designed to fit the 21 lb Braille battery, and the .5" thick aluminum tray weighs 3 lbs. Too bad it remains hidden in the trunk. Oh, if you're wondering why I didn't use the AMG logo, I went for a more universal logo in case I wanted to use this in another car. (assuming it fits )

I think there were a few people running the 15 lb battery with mixed results. Basically you have to be careful of letting the car sit too long, or running the radio for extended periods with the car off. From what I gathered, the 21 lb battery offered the best compromise. We'll see how it goes. Worst case scenario I'll just throw the heavy OEM brick back in.
