No clear coat.
If I do ever decide to clear coat it im going with high heat satin clear.
Dunno how regular clear coat will hold up on the exhaust.

Sorry for the late reply brotha.
I applied between 2-3 coats, I didnt remove remove the diffuser though it would have been easier and simpler to paint the tips.
I used plastic masking sheet to cover the entire bumper and diffuser as not to get any paint on the car and painted the tips using high heat satin black ceramic paint.

I did mine with plasti dip on my CLS63 exhaust tips and they're holding really good and looks nice too I used smoke clear PD
