anyone know how is the ride PSS compared to PS2? I changed over to 19 inch PS2, even with a smaller sidewall I was surprised it was more comfortable than OEM 18inch Continentals so I would appreciate if anyone have a general idea between the PSS and PS2, thanks.
and _AMG_, car look great, what size tires are you running?

Out Of Control!
Great Feedback!
I'm due for a set of PSS but *******s aren't releasing the size I want (285/30/19). Already called but Mich can't get me a straight answer as to when.

these tires are AMAZING! you can easily tell that it handles better right when you get the tires slapped on. theres this turn where i usually drive by almost everyday. the back end would slip at a certain speed. but with the PSS seems like the back end is planted at high speeds

Here is a comprehensive review of the Super Sport..
http://www.porscheblogs.co.uk/tested...t-super-sport/
I had a set installed yesterday (8/26/11) on my W221 S550 after my stock conti's wore out at 17K miles .. 255x35x20 Front and 275x35x20 rear. Have not pushed them as yet as I need to figure out the correct pressure and if i want to run them at the 42/44 as recommended by mercedes for the 20" conti's. The shop set them to 36 for both front and rear, needless to say the tpms warnings all lit up..
What pressure are you running your super sports at?

AMG i love your car down to the yellow calipers flat black wheels every thing
the only thing i would do if it were mine is the two piece rotors (p30)
and a carbon fr lip : ) and it would be perfect ....just add gas : p

Alright, i've tried searching the forum but just can't seem to find info. I have the facelift matte black multispokes, 8" front and 9" back. On the michelin home page from the tire selector it says 255 in the back and 235 in the front. However from the PSS spec sheet it says it can handle 245 front and 275 back. Could someone assist me?

A given rim width can accommodate a wide range of tires. Two things to consider... too wide of a tire on a rim will result in the sidewall getting less support and you will get more of a more sloppy feeling and more tire roll in aggressive driving. I find that running a tire that technically fits a rim but is at the outside limits (either on the small or large size) impacts the feel of the car. Too skinny = harsh and an overly darty feeling. Too wide = sloppiness and tire roll. The other issue is aesthetics.
My personal concern with going 275 (especially in a PSS which runs wide) is that it may be a little balloony as the 265 "looks" to be about as wide as I would want to go to avoid tire bulge. Having said that, I personally don't like the balloon look so I'm biased... also, with only a 30 profile, there isn't much tire sidewall anyway. I find the 245 fronts actually balloon noticeably more... not bad necessarily, just more.
IMO only, 245/275 work fine on the OEM wheels as long as you don't mind a little bit of tire bulge. On the 18" wheels I wouldn't like the look personally (too much sidewall and bulge is not appealing to me) but on the 19" wheels with such little sidewall it is fine.

What do you guys think for 18s. Stock is 235/40 18 & 255/35 18.
I'm buying PSS 235/40 & 265/35 (instead of stock 255/35)
The rears are only 1.11% larger. Fronts are the same.
Will this throw off the traction electronics or TPMS?
